You should get plenty of answers to your query if you try in the

    ebay (and other auctions) board

    Hi,

Great post Apprentice Tycoon, thanks. Sorry if anyone has mentioned this already but can anyone suggest where to get cheap padded envelopes from? (Don't have a Pound Shop where I live and don't want hundreds from Viking.)

    Thanks

Squeaky is right - ebay is a good place to look if you just need a few OR buy a box of them from Viking and sell the ones you don't need on ebay

edit...maybe worth a post on the I wanna board to see if anyone knows anywhere else where small amounts of cheap bubble envelopes can be had
  • Thanks guys, great advice will follow up.

Or you could do the same as me and get free bubble wrap from the supermarket, just scout around the bags of apples at the bottom of the box is a sheet of it.
    And buy cheap envelopes.

Since reading A_T's starting tips a few weeks ago re selling books on Amazon I decided to take the plunge and listed loads. A lot were school ones (GCSE & A level) that my youngest son had not even looked at I realised when thumbing through them ( ) but I have now sold 20! A couple were quite heavy so my profit margin was nearly 0p. Not good but I did read about the postage costs so it was my own fault. I now have a profit of £50+ being deposited in my bank account today :):). So thank you very much!

I bought my padded envelopes from Aldi when they were on special but weren't exactly cheap and like Angela says, the bubble wrap in Tesco is free and there's usually loads of it at the end of the day:).

I think this is one case where a few thumb marks and bent-over corners would have been welcome!

Huh! He didn't even think of doing that did he! Kids eh? :):(:)
  • The tip about bubble wrap from the supermarket is fantastic! I've already sold loads of what I bought on Sunday! Set myself a target of 20p per book to buy, and I'm quids in. Thanks AT. Now, do I encourage my daughter to use her GCSE books, or hope she keeps them perfect for sale!
  • If I've paid my subscription, and sell a book for 1p, why do Amazon still take 49p. Surely to take money off the postage allowance is a bit rich?! Gonna have to weigh these books before I list them me thinks!
