taplady wrote:I have been very interested in how many of you sell books on amazon.I would like to try this but it says you have to have a credit card when you register.due to past financial difficulties i no longer have one so does this mean I wont be able to sell on amazon?
I used my Mother's Debit Card to register.
I think the card is there for purchasing reasons as the money I make is paid directly into my bank account.0 -
Re - the feedback.
I bought a book on the 4th august, they have only just asked me today to give feedback to the sellerIf I screw my eyes up tight I can just about see where you're coming from0 -

I'm thrilled to bits. I've had about eight books posted for a week, and have just sold two of them within two days! They're my old Uni books, so perfectly timed for all the people receiving booklists for the new term...I'm really chuffed! Profit of £9.06. Also three books on ebay, profit of £4.50, and a pair of trousers, £4.99! These are all things I was clinging hold of that were just taking up space. Funny how easy it is to get rid of them for profit!
I wouldn't have finally taken the plunge to start selling without the encouragement of this thread. Thanks!0 -
£7.25 here today on a book I wouldn't give you tuppence for! (Sssshh, don't t ell the purchaser!)Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0

I made over £130 last year selling my Uni books. Still got some left, I will list them this week end.0

Thanks apprentice tycoon for starting this thread and thanks to everyone else who has posted tips since it's start. I have done ebay for over 3 years and have used Amazon before ages ago but some how had forgotten about it.
This thread reminded me all about it. :T
So far I have made over £155 in the last 6 weeks. This was just from selling all sorts of books/dvd/cd's that I had in the house but never used.

I'm pleased that everyone is still getting something out of this thread, there have been lots of man-hours put into it by a great many members - it's very gratifying and a minor poke in the eye for the Amazon sellers who criticsed me on their forum for 'giving away trade secrets'. Well, it's tough!0
