  • That's fantastic. Well done to you. Doing something always helps to make one feel less alone.

I'm so relieved to hear from you - and so pleased you're doing what you can at present.

    Big, big hugs

  • thanks guys, lets just hope i can keep positive as i know its what i need, i have just had a phone call from my local mental health team to say i have been allocated a support worker (i had been waiting for this for 3 months) what a coincidence it should happen today !! well she is coming on wednesday next week and apparantly can help with any sort of problems i get. as for the question about incapacity benefits i would have qualified as i am on long term sick but as i had a brewakdown and just stopped working there was not enough contributions paid by the time i realised i could claim. so no i cant get anything which is why hubby is doing 2 full time jobs.

  • That's really great that you have a support worker coming. Hopefully that will help in that you can at least talk to them and they can actually help.

Have you tried having a look at www.entitledto.co.uk (I think that's the link) just to check that you're definitely getting everything you can?

I'm so pleased things are a little brighter for you today. Don't forget to keep posting!

Hi Patchy - good to have you back!
I am sorry to hear about your aunt and about this other funeral you mention. This will be a difficult day, as you say - but the very fact you are waiting for these funerals is bound to have dragged you down and it will be easier once they are in the past. Just get through it a few minutes at a time - not long now and they will be over.
There is a wonderful thread called something like 'Stormybay's thread of comfort' on this board. Stormy lost her husband very suddenly and people rallied round her. Since then other people who have been bereaved have joined in - what a wonderful bunch! They are so supportive! I'll check the title of the thread in case you want to have a look.
And well done for sending off those statements - good move ;)

The thread I mentioned (before MSE Forums temporarily went off this lunchtime) is 'Stormybay's Thread a bit of comfort in a hard world', and is found at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=334334
I hope that works, I'm well out of practice at doing links.
By the time you read this, I guess you'll have had a long day... please look after yourself, get some sleep and so on :-)

  • Hi Patchy

Hope it went OK today. Horrible things funerals but I always feel better when they're over.

I think you've made really great progress over the last couple of days. I know you feel terrible still - but one step up IS one step up - and it's a good start.

Take care of yourself - and hope you are as OK as you can be at the moment.

    xx
