You've done great so far, Lisa. I know what you mean about lack of motivation as I felt hyper when I started lol. If I feel like giving up I have to think again of the reasons I want to lose the weight. I'm determined that this time is 'it', though. Do you think going to a class would motivate you? Or maybe arrange to get weighed by the nurse at your GPs surgery?
Keep posting though!0 -
Well done hon...you're on your way.

I know what you mean Jackie about going to classes but I still dont think I can walk into the room on my own yet, I am working at it tho!! I'm not dismissing it at all.
Also I can't keep off the weighing scales, I'm going to have to pu tthem back up the attick me thinks. we have nicknames them "the liars" as they are inaccurate but i cant seems to not have any in the house :-| I also weigh on boots machine too. but lucky for me it ws out of order all last week.
Motiviation - I wish you could buy it in a legal mannor of course.0 -
I thought I had been doing so well, the way my clothes were beginning to feel lose & all:o
Then I got to see myself in a full length mirror in me muvva's bathroom........
I've now seen the saddle-bags hanging around my elbows & back of my knees, & I'm disgusted with myself. It's done nothing for my mood & I feel like taking the final sleep.
But I can't do that can I.....so I'll have to knuckle down & try that bit harder to lose the lard:oFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Bigmummaf.
I am feeling the slog too. I just can't seem to get any further with this weight loss it is driving me nuts too. And at the moment I can quite easily give it all up :-(
But just like you too I have to go on and so do you.
Maybe we will get there eventually and look at these posts and remember it was a hard time but we got thro it.0 -
Guess I was tired when I posted yesterday:o
OK. So I've not turned into a size 6 super waif overnight----& nor would I want to cuz I couldn't afford to keep buying clothes to keep up with the fashion fads:D ----but I feel a little more positive this morning.
Just wish the morons would give us a break from all their 'holier-than-thou' preaching about how "simple it is to lose weight":o
I've committed to try & fit in a size smaller trousers by the first Bank Holiday in Monday over on the Old Style Weight Loss thread. Others are using the scales to set their own mini challenges....anyone here care to join in?Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Hi Lisa
Its my first tiem visiting yoru thread but i can totally emphathise with you. Im 5'5 and about 3 stone overweight and boy do i know it - the fact that bf reminds me that im not the little size 12 he first got with is constantly drilled into my head by him. i weigh 13st 5lbs at my present weight and according to all these graphs everywhere i should be about 10st 7lbs.
I jsut want to say that i think your doing great and making psoitive steps to lose the weight - i knwo its not easy - ive tried and every time somethign carppy happens i felt like eating the whole fridge too and it doesnt help that i have a 3 year old and a boyfriend who thinks doritos and icecream are a good diet - and the swine doesnt put on a single pound either!
i was also just wondering where in Wales you lived?? because if your close enough and would like a work out buddy - even if its someone to keep you company on walks - then id be more than happy to have some company too.
I hope your doing well chick adn keep up the good work
Sam

Just been reading this thread. Lisa...and anyone else, who not have a look in Murphy's No More Pies Weightloss Thread in the Arms. Very supportive, friendly, funny lot in there, and some amazing success stories already. I personally had a stone to lose on new years day and have 4lbs to go!! The thread has really helped me. :j

I can also recommend Paul McKenna's book 'I can make you thin'.
You need to get rid of the guilt feelings surrounding food and also recognise the difference between eating because you are hungry and eating because of emotional reasons...it is a struggle but I am gradually changing my life style.
I have yet to listen to the CD but I have applied his methods and they do work, you have to retrain yourself to recognise when you are full and also not feel guilty about leaving food on the plate.0 -
Hi guys,
Well I have had a better week I suppose but it doesn't help matters when your daughtes easter eggs are still hanging about the house.
The weather hasn't been great here so I havent been able to do as much walking as I want to so thats suffered a bit this week too. All in all I still weigh the same which is annoying the hell out of me.
I caught a glimpse of myself in a long mirror yesterday and I am horrified.
Hey Sammy-Kaye18. I used to live in South Wales nr Port Talbot but now I live in a very very windy Torbay.
Shambler - I have the Paul McKenna book and CD and it has helped alot, but I find that you have to be able to relax enough and really concentrate hard on the CD which at the moment is proving difficult for me as I have a terrible concentration span.
I hope you are all doing very well with your weight loss - And I hope you all are not as impetient as me!!0
