I'm sorry you're having a !!!!py time of it, Lisa.
I can't believe you still managed to do all that walking with a dodgy foot! Fingers crossed it's nothing too bad. Doctors do tend to make you worry. My mum went to the doctor's to see about a fatty lump on her arm - the doctor said she might have to get her arm off! Mum said she thought it was a joke (it had been), but it still made her worry. What a thing to say to a patient lol
If you're a bad mum, then so am I. I've sent mine to school (notorious put it on'ers!) only for them to be sent home. My dd vomited in class one time after i'd put her to school after saying she didn't feel well.I hope your daughter's feeling better soon.
And pity the thieves didn't get blown away last night!!0 -
This is my very first time. I have the exact same problem. My BMI is 40 and at the age of 35 I need to take action fast! I have tried so many diets and never stuck to them. I am always tempted back with the lure of chocolate and fast food. I am definately addicted to fast food and would gladly eat it every day given the chance.
But now I am faced with the very real danger of serious health risks and am scared and sick with myself for allowing it to get to this stage. Can anyone recommend any diets that have worked.0 -
Hello and welcome.
After reading this thread I decided to start Slimming World. I joined 3 weeks ago and i've lost 15lb. I joined on my 40th birthday! Easily the best plan i've ever followed. I wouldn't class it as a diet because you get to eat so much. You could still eat some chocolate, or have a McDonalds.
I probably have more to lose than you (I know I have because my BMI is higher) I felt so much better after making a start. I knew I had to do something, as like you, I was scared as well. There's so much things that I can't or won't do because of my size - and going into Evans depresses me!
There's a Slimming World thread on here. Please feel free to come and join us.http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=784161

Thank you so much for your welcome. Maybe this is what I need, to give and receive support from people who know what the situation is. I did try going to Weight Watchers but standing in line for over 30 mins to get weighed and then 20 minutes for a group discussion was not what I called support.
Your idea of Slimming World sounds a lot better. I feel more positive already knowing you're all out there!!!0 -
You're definitely not alone.
I couldn't get my head around Weight Watchers. I've tried going it alone as well, but I need the support as well. If you're determined, you will do it! I've lost 5 stone with them before (8 years ago) so I know it can be done. I'm just sad that I didn't stick with it. My weightloss slowed down and I got fed up and stopped going before i'd lost all my excess.
I'm pretty sure this is it this time. I'm in for the long haul.
Have you any triggers when you overeat? I've ate because i've been disgusted at myself. It's like punishing myself for what I am. I know it doesn't make sense to do that. I just have to keep telling myself that i'm better than that.0 -
Not really sure. I eat when I'm depressed, bored and when I celebrate anything! So my triggers are pretty much anything and everything.
I am sad to say I LOVE food and that's undoubtedly why I am in this state now.
I have been looking at the Slimming World website and found one not too far away. I might give myself a kick up the pants and go tomorrow night. Please let me keep this momentum and carry this through.
Your weight loss of 15lb in three weeks is awesome. I only hope that I can do half as well as you and at least get myself to the group.

I was on a high when I came out of my first meeting. I suppose it was because i'd actually got round to doing something about it - and I couldn't wait to get started lol
Write down all the negatives of being overweight - and all the things you'd like to do once you've lost it. When you feel disheartened, have a read of it again. If you feel you haven't had a good week - don't stop going! I felt bloated this week and was sure I hadn't lost anything. I actually lost 1.5lb. You might be surprised. Even if you do put on, or stay the same - go to class. It's all too easy to miss a week, then it turns into 2, and then find out that you're too embarrassed to go back.
Let us know how you get on. Good luck! x0 -
Hey Ho....just wondering if you guys had looked thru the other slimming threads on here.
I'm on two others & find the support from everyone a great boost, mainly cuz I'm not prepared to spend a fiver or more for someone to tell me how much I've lost & what to eat---even if I could afford it!
Check out Murphey's No More Pies mascarading in The Arms under"Is anyone else trying to lose weight?"& the other is in Money Saving Old Style"Old style weight loss"Both have recently been updated so there's not a terrific amount to trawl thru.
Have to agree with eating when I'm at my lowest & seeing as I'm there most of the time it ain't good just now. Of all things, I wish I could eat bananas, but it must be the texture or something that just makes me want to hurl:o
Why does all the bad food have to taste so good:pFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.
