28 posts to go.. and.. if you don't get next week's list your houses will devolve into their former CHAOSishness and you will have no visitors and eventually.. you will be house bound because your mess will block the doorways and you'll starve to death because there is only so much stuff the tesco delivery guy will stuff through the cat flap!!
Bread is rising for the chimps bread bombs and the next loaf is in..
Best go reload the TD's and WM's.. I WILL have the kitchen in some resemblence of a kitchen.. and as Tiddles is in bed I'll have to sort the boys room.. woohoo!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I just work my dailies in as I go. As soon as I get downstairs I pull the curtain back from the front door, then the living room curtains, open the window to let it air (however cold it is), go round the room tidying remotes, magazines etc into the right places, take the throws off and put them back tidy, same with cushions, feed the fish, plug in the cable box to boot up and then shut the window. Takes about 2 minutes and it looks nice. It gets dusted/vacuumed later in the day.
Same principle with kitchen. If it looks fairly tidy it spurs you on to clean it. At least that's how it feels to me.
And so on
OK. Roast dinner eaten, washed up, dishes put away. Watched something I taped last Sunday night ready to tape again tonight. Went to go outside to check washing and found b****y cat had killed a pigeon and mostly plucked it outside the back door. He came in covered in feathers before I could stop him. Made DH pick up dead pigeon (I don't do dead birds unless I'm here on my own and have no choice). Ended up having to vacuum in the garden because there were so many feathers and it was impossible to dustpan them up.
Sometimes I hate cats.
Most of washing dry and folded and put away. After I changed the vacuum bag I vacuumed through downstairs.

KM.. I blitz the house once or twice a year and do the whole lot.. it is a killer and last year took 10 of us 3 days!!!
NOW.. I have tried to keep on top of it since then.. you have to live and you have to work but you don't have to live in Utopia.. it is allowed to be 'homely' I would die if I had to live in a show home.. I simply couldn't. I like mess.. hhmm.. another issue!
Most of my dailies I whizz through while the kettle boils the 400 times a day it boils lol.. they tend to follow on as well.. td-wm-dw-bm-sc.. which makes it easierI do those before attempting anything else.. the dailies are what keeps the house running. I love the flinging we do.. getting rid of my clutter is my ultimate goal in life.. one day I will have nothing but that days post and today dust and laundry.. and then I'll go tidy the garden.. lol
It is all about finding a balance.. using the time you have wisely and getting into some kind of routine.. it is great in principal.. but isn't happening too fast in here though there is an improvement..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thank you... I am lucky in that I am not a hoarder EXCEPT in the bedroom and study
So every other room is clutter free so relatively tidy its just keeping them clean that i fail on. BUT, like I mentioned, the bedroom and study a different matter! Bedroom full of clothes and toiletries!!! Study full of books, papers, boxes all in the right piles ready to be sorted in albums, folders, ebaying but NEVER gets done Arrrrrr. So they are defiantely my worst rooms :mad:0 -

Grrrr can someone else check the discount forum for me to see if there are any codes for John Lewis , it just comes up with an error for me. Think I have decided on a dishwasher from there, with 6% via quidco and 1% on the cashback card I am keen to see if I can get any more off!Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0

Proud to admit it, I've given up on this weeks list again !!!!
Have just come back from shopping (blown this months grocery budget with 11 days to go!) and have to put that all away and update my new list at the same time. Then Ive a roast to cook, oodles of laundry to sort, uniforms to iron, baking to do and I might just hoover through downstairs but thats enough, so forget the list. But I will try again next week as I've only a week then until our little french student comes to stay for a fortnight and dont want her to think our home is a hovel.
Anyway best get started - kettles on, anyone want a:coffee: :rotfl:Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
