OK I've survived, I think, two back to back parties for 5 year olds!
Now chilling with a cuppa waiting for the painkillers to do their thing with my poor pounding head then will crack on..
HHI first I think, then as much tidying as I can a further declutter of my bedroom
Onwards & upwards,
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
woohoo we made it :-)0

Standing in for Lil_me actually.. she is on study leave temporarily.
Bonsibabe - have a lovely visit with your parents and enjoy a rest! You've worked hard preparing for them. Well done.
Last two years, we had snow in March which didn't last very long, but it did make driving hazardous so we weren't allowed to work away from home till it cleared, but it's flippin' freezin' here today!
Steph - Welcome! My toddlers are 5'4" and 6'2", so I'll have to dredge the memory, but it sounds like you're trying to do too much. The paid jobs may be a necessity, and certainly doing things from scratch is more cost effective, if a bit time consuming, but definitely only tackle one room at a time! When my toddlers were small, the best way to keep them busy was to give them a mini cleaning set to "help". It worked quite well, so could you do that with your 3 year old when 1 year old has a nap? And I'm sure Pigpen would say to only tackle Level 1 until you get into the swing of things. Remember (I don't know the origins - hope you like this one too, Dusty):
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.
Oh dear. I lost the plot again! I was wondering why you would want the window open when it's so cold!:rotfl:
Boddy - I don;t like getting rid of books. I jsut moved to a bigger house, so now they're all in one room. (The room's about a foot smaller all round because of the bookshelves tho!):rotfl:
KM - I was really struggling to keep on top of things till I found this thread. I am usually up about an hour and a half before I need to go out (but that depends on how quickly you work and how much you need to do). I also find posting a list on here encourages you to actually achieve it!
Mudbath - thank you for that. (Have car, will travel!)
I've had a rubbish day! I did all my dailies, then the plan was to do the lounge ceiling, borrowed a nifty gadget from brother, but the textured paint was too thick and despite having been sanded, the ceiling's peeling! Brother's FIL came to do my apple tree (he's doing my garden, but I haven't seen him at my house since the day my mum died when he brought us back from hospital!), then the bad head was back with a vengeance. Had some lunch, then took gadget back to brother, then came back and went to bed for an hour, got up and had a bubble bath, then DH came home so he's making dinner, but I've still got to put everything back that I'd moved to do ceiling.
Where's the new thread? I need to try harder next week, but think a visit to the doc may be in order!

Dusty - re ORF - haven't phoned the gardener because I'll probably get his dragon of a wife answer the phone but I'll leave him a note when he's due next Thurs.
So, what have I achieved with my weekend list? Nearly did them all, but hey, they weren't all imperative. Had a lovely afternoon out with the camera. I 'm researching local history with the view to writing a book on the people who made my town what it was in the early days. So, I went to the local cemetery and spent about 2 hours just wandering through the gravestones, taking photos of interesting and relevant ones. It was soooo peaceful. Even saw a green woodpecker and a fox!
There was one large mauseleum to a local family which was stunning at the time I was there. There's a stained glass window at the west face of it which the sun was just catching as I was there. As the sun shone throught the wondow, some text was illuminated inside. At the risk of seriously boring all, I'll put a photo of it up on my next post. It really was beautiful.
The ebaying of the maps is going really well. I'm now around £250.00 in profit - and there's around a hundred more maps to go- Do PAYE before the taxman comes after me He can wait another week

Soappie - that's really lovely. We're thinking of buying DS the Nikon D40 6.1mp for his birthday. What do you think? He did a lot of photography with his previous tutor and is very keen, so we like to cultivate anything like that. He's so limited for anything physical by his illness.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419
