vista is slow with 1GB mamory is because
when you first start using Vista, it is slow. Slower than XP actually. Things do improve (by a lot) just by using it, as Vista "intelligently" monitors your behaviour and sort of pre-caches what you use most so the apps are speedier
so 2GB is better for vistathere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
Interesting to hear that. Now if Bill Gates only spends $7 on his haircuts, we are also entitled to be tight fisted when shelling out on Windows.:rotfl:0

how can you assume it would be cheap and nasty, medion arent just by alsi but other shops as well so the name cant be that bad,
Medion are a German company and quite respected out there. There's nothing wrong with them, they use low cost or cut down versions of branded hardware but they do the job. They also sell under the name Tevion and Cicero.
Woolworths, Aldi and Somerfield sell their PC equipment and the Medion GoPal Sat-nav is sold in PC World, Dixons and Currys. The sat-nav is quite highly rated.0 -
I was actually helping this person, I gave my hands on experience of 2 Medion Computers, I did not come here spouting about " Home Made " computers, that can never truly compare with the value of this computer.
Not everyone wants to put a load of unmatched components in to a tin box. at additional cost, with less warranty.
Thank you for proving my theory that you have an inability to read other peoples posts properly, and have little idea what you're on about. I'll end the coversation here and move on.
Russ- Google is your friend, use it :rolleyes:0 -
Hi , i have had a Medion from Aldi for approx 6 yrs. I have had no problems that required Customer Services. However over the last 6 months it has slowed considerably, Excel & Media Player have dissappeared and i could cook a Roast in the time it takes to load up!

I have considered buying a Dell Inspirion 530s - i'm not too hot on the techie specs. However have been told that if any problems you have to go back to Dell whose service is not greatest.
Is this true? Does the product quality surpass poor customer service?
Any advice welcome - budget of 400 - use for everyday stuff, only need base unit.0 -
The Dell i mentioned above has nexrt day onsite warranty included0

Why don't you sort out the one that you already have? If you have been happy with it for 5½ years and it has only given you problems in that last few months, it can't be too difficult to sort out what the problem is. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

But only for a year as opposed to 3 with the Medion and you quote was for VHB the Medion has HVP. What's the price of your Dell with 3 years warranty and VHP?It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0
