Or maybe that is just what the bosses have told the staff to say when they phone the customer, just incase the customer gets upset and wants to take the matter further??

OK, I have now contacted Consumer direct and Watchdog (although Watchdog asked if I had watched the show this week and I haven't - oops!).

So, if Watchdog take this matter up, who is going to volunteer to go on TV and be interviewed about it because I am camera shy????

Perhaps jonathonjordan can do a reconstruction of himself waiting in at his mums house with his tool kit???:D

I was around in the days of the Garden Play Equipment Fiasco. I was livid that my table tennis table didn't arrive, especially as my best friend's did and she ordered way, way after me from my tip off !

I did all the ranti' and ravin', wrote the letters, made numerous phone calls etc saw that it was going nowhere and settled for the gift vouchers.

It'll be great if you all get one of these 'sheds', ( I almost went for it myself but my garden's too small ), but reading this thread now, from the outside, it all sounds so aggressive !

Maybe, due to my past days in web design, I sympathise with the lone guy 'tapping' in the prices in a database and who missed out the decimal place ?

Maybe, due to recently moving into my first ever retail job where, despite our best efforts, we miss the odd incorrect shelf price ?

Maybe, I've learnt on this site that you win some you lose some ?

Maybe I've just grown up and have other things to care about ?

Maybe I shouldn't be in an 'odd' mood and brave enough to submit this reply ?

Your site advertises that it's possible to complete a free 1 day training course to become a trade fitter and to "generate £3000 by fitting 2 conservatories a week". Doesn't that mean that your public prices are hugely over-inflated?

It wasn't even a decimal place because according to my letter from them it was advertised at 357.11 instead of 3579.10.
It is not only the fact that the price was wrong that has upset everyone, it is also the way that B&Q have dealt with it, taking the money, confirming the order, waiting 5 days before contacting us and attempting to blame the purchaser by stating it was an obvious mistake - after all they only take 'all reasonable precautions to ensure prices are accurate' according to the letter! Then to offer it us at 3179.00 when it was only 1600 in January:eek:

I've not had the phone call yet nor a message although I've had the letter this morning, I think if and when she does ring I will be very interested to find out who in TS's has managed to investigate the matter and which consumers they have interviewed to enable them to give their actions a clean bill of health
