Well I've not heard anything which must be a good sign as I would have heard by now if there was a problem.
Of course if I was a member of this MSE thingy whatever that is perhaps I would be more up to date.
Since we ordered on Saturday we have managed to get a lot done here at Silk Mansions. The next door neighbour is a nice chap and we were able to lease part of his garden off him for a very reasonable £3000 providing we put a new fence up round it, we managed this for a very reasonable £1200 taking down the old one and replacing with new etc.
We decided to have a proper concrete base put down in preparation which due to the short notice was able to be done with the aid of a mini digger and I'm sure the front lawn will patch up easily enough to cover all the skip and digger marks ! The contractors were good enough to put a nice brick path down to the plot at the same time and I thought all this was a bargain for £2000. We have also been very lucky in that the electricians were able to work through the night before the concrete and path was put down to lay the supply cables to the plot but thought they were rather expensive at £1000, perhaps not if you allow for the night work.
Weve bought some nice light fittings and flooring ready for when its delivered although I wasn't sure we needed 2 oil filled radiators as I'm sure the office will be well insulated but the supplier threw an extra one in for the £1000 cash.
We managed to get an office suite from a mate of mine who specialises in that sort of thing and he was able to get some sort of designer stuff knocked down to £500 but he says it will look great through the french doors of the new office and he is storing it for me till it gets delivered, very reasonable rate at £30 a day I thought ??? Just hope it comes soon though as £30 a day soon adds up !
I hope it looks nice too as having spent all my money with the preparation etc which is about £8700 I don't have anything left to look for a different one if we don't like itIt's not just about the money0 -

Well B&Q rang today... "It's a mistake and we are canceling”. Short and not-at-all-sweet. They will confirm in writing, they cash has probably been refunded. (If you are watching this B&Q – at the very, very least tell your people to say sorry).
By sheer chance I bumped into a barrister who does contract law… his reaction – “You have them by the b*lls, don’t let go” – “next stop trading standards” – “I’ll do court for you”. I’m not an expert, but I found even that reaction surprising! Maybe not over yet?0 -
