The Mirror are going to be running a story about the B&Q fiasco in tomorrow's paper! :j

I contacted Daniel Boffey, who is a reporter for The Mirror, earlier this week. He agreed that it sounded an interesting story and asked for more information. I sent him as much info as I could from everything I have collated, and spoke to him on the phone several times. The outcome? Well, as I've already mentioned, a story in the Thursday edition of The Mirror!

Rest assured that no-one's personal details have been passed on, I gave him the facts as I know them and spoke about it from my point of view (which seems to be the same as everyone elses on here, so I hope I did an okay job on everyone's behalf).

We all owe a big THANK YOU to angelag, as she was the one who PM'd me the contact details for Dan :T

I also want to thank Dan (and The Mirror) for agreeing to run the story, and for moving on it so quickly :)

I know that Dan has contacted B&Q about this matter, and their response was pretty standard, run-of-the-mill stuff. No real explanation for why they didn't deal with it immediately, just blah, blah, blah as far as I am concerned.

I would like to keep this thread running, as my next phase is to collate details of those who are going to take legal action. This is something that Dan has expressed an interest in following up if it does happen, so please keep me informed!

Thanks to everyone for keeping the momentum going on this, I for one feel much happier now that we are getting our voices heard :j

I received a letter today from Sam Stray - but with no vouchers included or offered. Usual sorry but due to computer error and miscalculation of stock they are unable to supply our order. The reason we could not track your order when you have been in contact is no money was taken from your credit card -due to the fact we did not have stock so the order was never contactually confirmed ( thought that is what my confirmation email was for!!!) Blah blah blah disappointed you and your family the offer extended to you is the final one( nothing offered though) Should you not be satisfied with this solution I would respectively suggest you might wish to seek further impartial advise on the subject. With reference to the service you received from the employees mentioned in your letter I would like to apologise on their behalf and will be taking the matter up internally to prevent a similar situation occuring in the future. Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention as customer feedback is very important for us to improve the service we offer to customers. Apologies once again......

Shook the evolope up and down but definately no vouchers included - well I suppose that will save me the price of a stamp to return them. Looks like will have to contact the evening times and local trading standards after all.
No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

Thank you so much for your continued hard work on this, you have had a rough time of it recently & still you continue to keep going for us all.

Thanks again to Miranda & Rob for what you are doing.

Thanks also to angelag who gave frogling the contact for The Mirror.

My completed claim form was posted off to my solictor today. I hope he acts quickly. I will let you all know of any outcome as & when I have any news.
  • I'm one of those it-turns-out-they-didn't-take-my-money-but-they-did-send-me-an-order-confirming-email people; are we a sub-species?

I emailed the trading standard link on here and got a reply that said if we want to claim for loss of bargain we have to actually purchase the goods before we claim not after. What is everybody else doing regarding this?

Edited to add it was rsadvice@hants.gov.uk that I mailed
