Absolutely no point calling them, you will speak to the stupidest people IN THE WORLD and they will be of no help. I've tried talking to the people at the top (and until today, I've never failed to get to the top man) but you'll not get through the wall of ignorance they've raised aaround the senior management team. They are all singing from the same song sheet and don't want to hear from you.

Only way to move this on is to write to them and threten them with legal action. I've written to Kingifsher as B&Q are just a bunch of cowboys who care not one jot.

Recently there has been quite a bit of speculation that Kingfisher are about to be taken over. Kingfisher have been struggling lately, probably mainly due to B&Q, they drafted in top gun Ian Cheshire into B&Q to try and sort things out. I have emailed Ian Cheshire, he must have received my mail because shortly after i sent it i received a email back from Sam Stray. If his idea of "sorting the company out" is to bury his head in the sand at the first sign of trouble then i do not believe he will last long.

I have always liked B&Q, i like going to their stores, ...there are stores everywhere and they are always full..so how do you explain the downturn in sales.....i don't want to spell it out to you Mr Cheshire..you are probably on 10 times my salary. But when the top dog can't roll up his sleeves and deal with a problem then your business is in freefall...its lack of customer service that is the problem with B&Q...we all know it so why don't they ?

According to the 2005 Kingfisher Annual Report our friend Mr Cheshire (aged 45) has:

    http://www.kingfisher.co.uk/annual_report_2005/managed_content/files/pdf/report2005.pdf[/url]

Base Salary = £335,000 (now increased to £340,000)
    Total Benefits = £40,600
    Cash Bonus = £113,900

    Total renumeration for 2004/5 = £489,500

    Also

    86,008 Kingfisher Shares £2.88 per share = £230,423.04

    Share Options totalling 736,609 shares.

Is also a Non-Executive director of Bradford and Bingley plc earning £42,500

So by reading your email or answering Sam Stray's questions relating to the Playcentre fiasco... How much ££££ of his time has been wasted?

A hell of a lot more than £20 worth of B&Q vouchers.

I really hope that someone from B&Q is reading this....

Another interesting point is that over the past five years B&Q have invested heavily in I.T Systems, systems that there suppliers boast are fully fault tolerant and will be available 24hrs a day 7days a week, they talk about a world class service availability of over 99.99%.

So how then did a computer error on the 16th and 17th July affect my order that was placed early on the 15th July. And how did people manage to order stuff on the 16th when the computer system had failed...not exactly "world class" is it ?

I have put this to Sam Stray, her response was to cut and paste the "we're sorry" part of the company statement and again patronize me with the £20 in store vouchers...i said i didn't want them...they sent them anyway, i sent them back and they thanked me "very much" for returning the vouchers...
