I have a Ben Nevis due tomorrow - originally ordered online on 19th July - went through the whole rigmarole of cancelled order, waiting list, retaking CC details, etc... Had paperwork confirming replacement order last week with a totally different order number to the one placed online. Let's see what turns up tomorrow..... fingers crossed...

well if you've had paperwork then you'll definately get it, just to double confirm you can contact the delivery company and they'll tell you if they've got your order on their despatch list for tomorrow.

Most of us have had paperwork then had the call at 5pm the night before saying sorry no delivery.

Hopefully you'll get yours but i wouldn't rely on it until it's actually there.

Thanks again frogling, because of you i've four very happy children .I hope you get a satisfactory answer from B&Q, you definately deserve it, as do the rest of the people who have been messed about.

You MUST put 4 concrete pads down (make them a little bigger than suggested) and use rawlbolts to fix down. If not it WILL tip over first time somebody swings on it!!

I would concrete them in to be honest. You could get away without doing it, but you could have four very flat children if you don't follow the destructions!!!
    Waddle you do eh?

I never recieved any paperwork from anyone. But it all turned up ok and on time.

Personally would use a ronseal wood treatment, (fence/shed 10 year stuff is excellent!)

Just had a long winded conversation with a member of staff at the B&Q call centre (Mark) who basically run me the spiel that he and obviously all the other call centre staff had been made to give. During the process of our conversation I could hear the noise of frantic key pressing, at which point I stopped him and asked what he was doing, he said he was making the refund, I told him thats not what I had asked for, I had called to ask why I was told on the 3rd that I would be recieveing my products, when that obviously was not going to be the case. He said that there had been communication problems and that staff wasn't sure that these products had been discontinued until yesterday

I mentioned this site and the many more disgruntled customers (the fool had never heard of Martin or moneysavingexpert.com  ) anyway he just went over the same thing again and again that head office had advised any customer that called in to refund them their money without question, he said that that was what had been passed from their Legal Dept and to offer £20 in gift vouchers for B&Q and if that was refused a cheque for £20.

He also told me that B&Q had now fulfilled their obligations and they were going to do nothing more about it, there was no point in contacting anyone within the company and if I and any other customer was not happy, they would need to take the matter up with a solicitor, he was constanstly checking with his manager (Martin Clayton) regarding this and anything that I had to say in response. Has far as they are concerned the matter is now closed

Mum: I'm not suggesting you shouldn't do this...or even that you don't have to.....but mine only has the yellow 'L' shaped brackets on it and the whole thing is sitting on grass. It's not bolted down in any way as we're likely to be moving and I was worried about making it too permanent a feature in the garden.

The frame doesn't move at all, we were careful to stay and observe the first couple of times our 5 year old was on it with her friends and it's very heavy, solid and rigid. We were happy to leave it like that for the time being at least, we believe it is not likely to tip over.

Again, I'm not suggesting you leave yours....I'm just letting you know of our experience of not bolting it down. Maybe if the children were older or heavier it might be more of an issue?
