Rockerfeller would it be possible for me to use you as evidence that it was not first come first served ?

Have got a similar story to tell. Ordered a table tennis table on the 15th July and was given a delivery date of tomorrow (9th August) because the original delivery date would have been whilst I was on holiday. I was phoned today to be told that the table is out of stock and would not be re-ordered. They have taken my money and I don't know whether to accept the refund with no conpensation - any ideas???

I had a phone call from B& Q this morning to arrange the delivery of what is hopefully going to be the rest of my Wooden Play Castle. The slide was delivered last Mon.

I am in the same boat as you Louise1521
Slide from last monday and hopefully the rest this coming monday
  • The website of LeMac Timber Products shows items for sale bearing a striking similarity to the Ben Nevis, Matterhorn and Wooden Castle playcentres. The photographs shown appear to be identical to those used in B&Q's marketing literature.

I phoned LeMac today and they confirmed they were still able to supply what appears to be the Ben Nevis model, although they call it the Pirates playcentre.

    see https://www.lemac.co.za

It seems to be a South African company, possibly a manufacturer. I have pointed this out to B&Q, as yet without response.

I agree the Pirates Playcentre is definately the Ben Nevis under a different name.

4300.00 Rand = £373.21 GB Pounds - A lot cheaper than B&Q's original price although shipping would have to be taken into acount.

The wooden playcastle is definately the same too.

Wonder if they'll turn up ShawdowHunter??? I'm a bit concerned as we can't take delivery next Mon (15th), I've had to postpone it until the 22nd. Bet it'll be out of stock again by then!!!!!!

I'll be waiting in with baited breath
  • I have been at work and so just read the B&Q statement. So all the problems happened on the 16/17 July. Therefore if you ordered on the 15th everything should be fine. Ermm No - So what was the problem? and why if there was a problem on 16/17 July were they still taking orders on 19/20 July. To me it does not add up.

The Matterhorn is the Midi Playcentre. The Children in the photo are the same. 5000 Rand or £434.23. Or in B&Q £799 - That is quite some difference
  • Sorry to see so many of you having such a nightmare with B & Q. If they can't even get their story straight it's not looking hopeful for a lot of you.

If majority of you don't get more than an apology what's stopping you MSEs threatening or even getting together in groups, giving the local newspaper a call and holding peaceful demo's outside selected stores, then you'll be more hopeful of national coverage.

    Good luck to you all.
  • sorry, where is the B&Q statement?

    Thanks.
