Looks like the tube is on it's way out,
Looks like the blue and yellow are still workng but the red has gone.

gawd!! How much are they to get repaired? I can still see red in the picture though
  • Not sure a repair would be feasible if the tube is gone. It's the most expensive part to replace.
You may still be able to see red, but it sounds like the plates which sit a the back of the cathode ray tube are out of alignment, and therefore the colour isn't getting to all the places it needs to be (these plates direct the particles to the particualr pixel placements on the visible screen). This could be old age, or as suggested, something magnetic being placed near the TV (got any stereo speakers beside it?). Another cause is cleaning or polishing the TV while it is switched on. Although the last one is rare....it does happen. Always better to clean the TV while it is switched off.

    Hi
This may sound daft but have you got a scart lead in the tv from either a dvd or sky tv ,
perhaps that just needs pushing back in tightly..
    Just a thought

It can't be old age, it's a 32 inch flatscreen Toshiba TV which i bought 4 yrs ago. So if it is the tube that has gone, it would be better to buy a new TV? I'll just have to suffer watching it in yellow then as i can't afford to buy another one..geez always paying out for stuff i am :(

If its a portable / small TV then its cheaper to replace than fix.
Its possible that you've lost your blue drive (asked dad, he's a TV repair guy), if you take it to be fixed, get an estimate first.
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:
