That's completely correct. The yellow voucher screen only pops up when the customer is spending over £10 at the final total. This can be paid by cash, credit/debit card or gift voucher/card. Money off coupons do not count as part of the payment as these are put throughh before we finally total the sale, so whoever is handing out extra vouchers will be caught out as the barcode we scan logs how many vouchers we give so this can be compared to how many vouchers our store was sent which means that the store will run out of vouchers before more are delivered as the system still thinks there are some left.
Also, £5 vouchers etc shouldn't be given out when exchanging items as theoretically you already got your voucher when you bought the original item. It's the same concept as to why the buyer and the spender of gift cards both don't get points.
It says on boots.com that when paying with GFs you can earn points.

I think you are right:D
can all bootsers who are given vouchers on a spend of under 10.00 please name the store so I can do my shopping there? :rotfl:
RE: dot.com. Are you allowed to use more than one code, and is there a limit to how many codes you can use per order?
Can Only use one code. But beware and don't do as I did the other day. I put in the code for Free delivery and £10 off the order.
It told me promotion would be applied at checkout. However at checkout I decided to get next day delivery as it was reduced anyway, and it must have taken my code away, as when I checked my final total today the £10 off has not been applied.
I will have to ring CS, to see if they can do anything. They appear to have stopped answering emails, as each time I have contacted them in the past, I never seem to get a reply. Has anyone else found this. Even through the website, when you type the message online has brought no repsonse.~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
i think orlaith means only one will get points, the one spending the gift card, not the one who buys it
edit: sorry meant to quote hesjane'They only had one cow!'0 -

Hi Hesjane Yes you are right you do earn points when spending gift cards/vouchers:D but you don't receive points when you are buying gift cards!:(

I have just nominated Crazyposhgal for post of the month.
She puts in so much work, and this thread grows faster than we can read it. She holds it all together for us, keeps it tidy and up to date. It's an easy source of reference for us without having to scroll through masses of pages. I beleive it is her organisation that keeps this thread growing.
It's easy to take it all for granted, we just go to post one and there it all is, laid out for us. But crazyposhgal does all that work behind the scenes. And that is after reading not only all the new pages, but each and every post.
I find it hard to keep up with just the reading of them, never mind the organisation of the first post.
I hope others feel the same way, and vote for her first post. Thanks again crazyposhgal, where would we be without you. :happylove~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
Hi  from one luton bootser to another:D
RE: 250points vouchers:
I used a 250points voucher today and it went through ok. I always hand over my vouchers in the order I want the SA to scan them, because if you hand them over all together, the SA might not put them through in the correct order. However, when I bought the P&P collection yesterday, the 250points didn't scan, so the SA put the points on manually for me - this was at the luton branch.
They wouldn't do the same thing for me on Friday in Luton! One SA even passed my stuff (quite aggressively I might add) to another SA and it still wouldn't work, my Illum voucher wouldn't work with P&P set either. I agree I don't think people realise how much time and how much work is takes. :T How do you nominate someone?0 -
Okay...last week I took the following to the tills...
No 7 body cream of some sort £10.50
Illum Powder £10.25
AND GWP
She scanned them through then I gave her the Illum powder voucher and a pink £5 off voucher. (And a points voucher, but lets ignore that.) She asked me for £5.50 in cash and then gave me a pink voucher back, as I'd "spent" £10.50...the voucher counts as cash in the Boots till, you see. (And because the Illum voucher also counts as cash, the till let me have the GWP too. )
Money off vouchers count as cash. So your total spend includes the voucher when there's a GWP or a reward such as a pink voucher.
You were lucky Valk_Scot I never got one at The Fort yesterday. However before I managed to hand over my Illum voucher yesterday the nice young girl asked me to hand her over a magazine from behind me and took the voucher out and scanned it. With my next lot the P&P set I just reached behind me and got another magaine to go with my other Illum powder however the till said No!!! however she just got the key and overrode it. As usual I was totally flustered.0 -
