We need more info. Whats in your fridge etc. Do you have any tin toms, onions, mushrooms (fresh, dried, tinned). Meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce etc. Curried meatballs.

    Hi eamon,

    Thanks for replying.

I have tinned tomates, potatoes, onions, carrots, chillies, tomato puree. I have rice and pasta. I cannot eat mushrooms so I have none of those. HTH

this is all i do with them, i have not done anything else. would be nice to get more ideas on what to do with them.

meat balls are great! i like to make a nice tomato sauce to go with them and spaghetti - dpending what fancy change the sauce - add garlic, make it bbq etc.
my other half loves making meatball subs with the left overs - save some of the sauce and cut the balls in half put them in some french stick as we always have some part aked rolls around, add cheese and salad and voila - subway at home! lol.
do anoyht good dish with pasta and the meatballs cooked in a oven proof dish, add peppers, sweetcorn, peas and a sauce of choice - normally make ours with chili then oven cook for 50 mins (someimtes brown the meatballs off in fry light first for colourin) after the first 30 take out mix around so all stirred again then add cheese or i cut up frozen garlic bread in slices on the top!
if they are not frozen you could always mould the more of the meat so they form burger patties.
always good to add in halves to pizzas when make them yourself.
even if try something different make a nice gravy up and have with mash and veg! think you can even get a sachet mix by colemans for sweedish meatball sauce!
hope get some good ideas from here! :j

I usually blitz a tin of tomatoes until smooth and add to fried chopped onion and garlic, peppers are nice to add if you have any lying around too. Simmer until soft and pour over the meatballs in an oven proof dish and bake for half an hour or so.
Chilli is nice added to the sauce for a bit of a kick, if i`m making meatballs to freeze i add chilli to the meatballs as well as the sauce, they are lovely.

We have meatballs with egg noodles and lots of ground black pepper :D

my variations are whats actually in the meatballs, herbs, cheese, chilli, spices etc but always with tom sauce (with onions, celery, garlic and carrots) and serve with rice or pasta, sometimes baked in the sauce with mozarella and parmesan

I usually buy those mixes that u can get in Asda for around 30p a packet, stroganoff, pork casserole, beef whatever, add a load of veg and serve with pasta, rice or spuds. A great cheap dinner.

    Hi tjp,

You've had some good suggestions so I've added your thread to the main thread on meatballs and sauces to go with them to keep the ideas together.
