eBay are on a real push to get buyers, something that Tazbar and ebid do not seem to grasp. If loads of sellers jump ship, the ones that stick it out will have far less competition.
i see where your coming from but your theory wont completely work.
if the small time sellers all left, would the powersellers who remain be able to supply everything currently available on ebay?0 -
If the good sellers leave Ebay, that will leave sellers who aren't bothered about about problems with buyers because they are scam sellers. The good buyers will then leave Ebay and so Ebay will just be scam buyers and scam sellers trying to rip each other off.0

There are enough people selling on ebay who still are not aware of the recent changes, and will continue to get excited every time there is a 10p listing day. Infact, there are still some shooting star powersellers that have only became aware of the changes this weekend!
As a sign of things to come on Cheap Listing days, the US recently held a $1 motors weekend - list your car for $1 instead of $40. BUT - they stiffed the final value fees up to cover this, from $50 to $109!!!!
Expect to see a LOT of this over the coming months in the UK.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
ebay really have lost the plot here. ebay needs to look after the sellers. the sellers are their customers.
the end buyers are the sellers customers! the free market will sort that one out.Vodafone sucks. :mad:0 -
Many moons ago before Ebay, to be running a business you needed to set up properly, have a company name and provide relevant information to your customer (address, contact etc). Ebay has made it easy for anyone to set up in business, and make them literally untraceable.
I think business sellers should be banned, and Ebay remain for second hand personal goods only. There would be a limit as to how many items you could list each month. No refunds, no claims, buyer beware.
Ebay was once a place for individuals to sell their junk to someone on the other side of the world. I would hate to work for trading standards now - the number of calls about dodgy Ebay sellers must be horrendous.0 -

eBay has made it very easy for people to start TRADING, but that does not necessarily mean they are a registered business. Banning registered businesses is opening up eBay to even more cheats and scammers than it already has.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I was so much in agreement with Class-it :T about the criminal rip off that ebay has become - I followed the saga and went to Tazbar and bought the famous laptop...got a bargain too...I have had a great chat with him since...
if all ebay sellers do as he says the 23,000 emails he has receieved suggest, then ebay will have a much deserved spanking - and not just from the listings strike happening next week...
lets use the alternatives (Tazbar and Ebid are cheaper to use) and at the very least scupper Paypal - the crooks who scuttled off to Luxembourg in order to avoid the many court cases they faced in the UK...0 -
Just checked this out and thought it was brilliant, just reading through the questions now and noticed the seller lives in my home town.....so the mugging option for the laptop would've been viable for me, lol!
It is a shame that the seller was getting abusive and threatening emails too.0 -
Im just having a look around all the various forums talking about my auction. It feels so weird to have started such a debate, worldwide.
The debate needs to be had though. Sellers are ebays customers, the value of the items on ebay start with the sellers and its sellers that pay all their extortionate fees - so its the seller thats the consumer on ebay and its about damn time consumer watchdogs got their heads around it!!! Over the last few days Ive found out so much stuff I didnt know - It would appear Ebay sure is one bent organisation. Anyway, they finally took my auction down and deleted every single email in my ebay Inbox.
I however saw that coming, so Id saved the emails and the auction. Ive started a blog at http://class-it.blogspot.com where Im publishing some of the many emails Ive received from people from all corners of the globe.
Oh by the way - Was a pleasure speaking to offpat, the guy who bought "THE LAPTOP" and I echo everything he says above. ... and whats better, ebay didnt get their grubby hands on any of it - and also the dumb idiots have refunded my listing fees when they removed the auction, meaning my rogering of them was completely free!!0
