  • Brilliant :)
  • Good evening everyone. Has the listing finally been taken down? Its been an interesting 24 hours to say the least. I have received a fair amount of hate mail which has freaked me out a little as I never intended for any of this to happen. However I have received over 4000 emails and a sampling of them seems to be around 20-1 support, which I can live with.

I really hope that some good will come from all this. I would love to see ebay get back to being the great site it was a few years back. The current leadership have destroyed ebays reputation in my opinion. Now its known as a buyer scammers paradise as well as a sellers one. They need to verify their users. They need to stop blackmailing sellers with Paypal. They need to level the playing field - and Id love the job!!!! Do you think I should send in my cv?

I sell and buy on ebay and lately am buying more than I sell. I have 100% postive feedback on 900+ and have sold over 1200 items. I gave a neg only once but it has been a quietly useful tool in that I give feedback only when I know that the buyer has received the item and is happy

So its goodbye ebay from me. Bad change on their part plus extortionate paypal costs. Oxfam will be the benefactor as I would rather give the items away for a good cause

and I love the bravery of that listing in the opening post

As someone who is currently involved in a dispute over a laptop that 'does not work', I fully support the OP and it is about time something was done.

Has anyone contacted the BBC or someone, Watchdog or the like, this is a serious issue?

Ebay has been a victim of its own success and needs to verify everyone who buys and sells on the site. I have a feedback of 750+, 99.9% positive, yet I am involved in a dispute with someone with a feedback of 12, who has not been active for 6 months and is registered in Poland.

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
  • Brill post well done.
  • I emailed watchdog with the link on Friday, just had an auto reply.
  • Hi Class it
on ebay you said your inspiration came from a bottle wine, give me the name of the wine,I need some quick.lol
  • Although I know it is very tongue in cheek, I don't like the fact that the auction outlines very simply, and very easily, to potential scammers how to get away with fraud.

are you seriously trying to suggest that anyone with a 2 cents worth knowledge of ebay doesn't know any of the tricks outlined in that listing?
