Please can I have receipe? Or is it bung it all in type of thing?! Do you cook the pasta first? Thanks

Well most things i cook tend to be of the 'bung it in a see what happens' variety lol :rotfl:

I make a basic cheese sauce, cut some bacon into small pieces and fry until cooked (dont need oil as the bacon gives off fat as it cooks) and add to cooked pasta in an ovenproof dish. Then i sprinkle a mixture of grated cheese and breadcrumbs on the top and grill until golden and bubbling.

Sorry i dont have any quantities, i dont measure anything really apart from in baking :o Plus the amount i make could feed 3 people or it could just feed OH

    Hi everyone,

Your meal plans all look great. I need to think about varying what we have a bit more and take some tips from you! Started last week well, but fell away a bit at the end of the week as FIL went into hospital so we were visiting straight after work and ended up eating out last night!

    This week:
    Sat - Chicken Enchiladas
    Sun - Chicken Salad
    Mon - Sausage Casserole
Tue - Chicken & Peppers with Pasta
    Wed - Mince & Potatoes
Thu - possibly out for dinner or take away
Fri - Macaroni Cheese & Chips

Need to make soup for lunches this week, so maybe minestrone & lentil

Total newbie to this thread - first week of meal planning (starting today - Sunday).

Sun - Homemade lasagne, potato wedges and salad (making 2 lasagnes, one going in freezer)
Mon - Roast chicken (lg one reduced to £2 !), roast potatoes, veg, sausagemeat stuffing (sausagemeat = sainsburys paid me 42p to take it away so got a drawer full in the freezer !)
Tues - Chicken curry (with left over chicken from Sun)
    Weds - Lasagne (from freezer)
Thurs - Fajitas (and a bottle of wine seeing as its Valentines Day!)
Fri - Pork Chops, mash and veg (sausages for the kids who don't like Pork Chops grrrrrrr)
Sat - Egg, chips and beans

Just cooked up a batch of spicy carrot soup (big bag of carrots reduced to 31p in tescos yesterday) and frozen it, so will take some for lunches at work next week. Going to make some sausage rolls for lunchboxes tomorrow (with some of the supply of sausagemeat in my freezer!) and will be doing fairy cakes for kids pack up later today.

Going to try and get by on what we've got left in freezer until 22nd Feb (payday) and there's not a lot in there !

Was poorly at the beginning of last week and food was the last thing on my mind so didn't bother last week.

Back into the swing of it this week though so:

Today - roast chicken and trimmings
Monday - hm chicken pie (from the leftover chicken)
    Tuesday - hm Pasta bolognese
Wednesday - sausage casserole & mash & veg
    Thursday - fish pie
Friday - hm chilli & rice

Might change some of the meals about depending on who's going to be home.

  • I have meal planned for the first time in ages this week. Did my shopping online and for 5 of us it came to £80.54 for the week (includes breakfasts, lunches and dinners) so I am very pleased. Here's what we are having;

Sat Cod, new potatoes, broccoli, carrots, pasley sauce (homemade)
Sun Turkey & chinese veg stir fry with brown rice
Mon Baked potato with beans, cheese and salad
Tues Duck, spring onion, baby corn & noodle stir fry with orange, ginger & garlic sauce
Wed Chicken drumsticks & thighs with pasta salad and garlic bread
Thurs Spag bol with lots of mushrooms & onion (homemade tomato sauce)
Fri Hot pot with cabbage, carrots & turnip
