    Morning everyone

Angelcake - re Goldfish, they were actually ok with us and as soon as we gave them our CCCS reference number they left us alone - as per usual, these creditors are so inconsistent. You can request that they don't call you - they should put a note on your file and if they do it again, tell them you'll report them for harrassment - that should shut them up!

MBNA questions - they accepted our DMP straight away and stopped all interest. They did say they needed payments by 24 of each month but I called to explain it would be more like the 30th, which they were fine with.

Anyway, this morning's post brought letter from Lloyds confirming DMP accepted but still adding interest - will be writing to them about that  Also had store card statement which is also still adding interest. Hoping to get most if not all interest reduced if not stopped as this will obviously help DFD, but at the moment I'm kind of just happy that we are paying all the bills and still have money in the bank and no one is giving us any grief.

However, also in post this morning was letter from solicitors acting for NR in response to our response and defence to their CC papers. It would appear from the tone of the letter that if we can come to an agreement with regards to the payment they are offered then proceedings will stop. Obvioulsy they want more than we have offered and tbh, I can kind of see their point, in as much as they say that there are four creditors with a smaller balance but getting a higher payment. but CCCS say that this because it is worked out on contractual payment rather than prorata of the actual amount owed. Mind you the amount they say that they want is more than the contractual payment - LOL! Still I think that there is room for maneouvre with NR and it's not quite as set in stone as I first thought.

I am thinking about coming away from CCCS and doing this myself because if I can avoid a CCJ/CO by paying NR a little more then I would like to, but CCCS won't let me. Also it would help our cashflow at the moment to hold on to our money til the end of each month (when the payments are due) rather than paying it on the first and it sitting with CCCS for a month. I know that's how they make their money, but again, TBH, I have done a lot of the agreeing with creditors myself, so wonder if I should let CCCS help people who maybe need their support more. I think being able to quote CCCS to start with was a help, but now creditors have agreed I don't suppose they care who manages the payments so long as they get them?

Hi Loopylou, thanks for that advice. I spoke to payplan and they told me to record names and number of times calls, tell the caller, nothing has changed since they spoke to me 1 HOUR AGO, and if they continue, I will report for harrasement. Payplan faxed over documents to them this morning, and surprise suprise not 1 single call today (touching wood)
    As usual thanks xx

    Hi

To cut a long story short, I am married, have a toddler and am 7 weeks preggars. I work part-time, my husband is self-employed and we currently have our business and home on the market.

I earn around £600 per month but have had debt problems since I was 18, I am now 26. I never learb. I currently owe £20k although my husband thinks I owe around £6000. I cannot tell him my problems as he has enough money worries of his own. Plus these are my debts, my mess and I have to learn and I have to sort my own problem out.

I contacted CCCS and am now on a DMP which begins 1st July. I am paying £131 to them so have money left over and I am aiming to save some each month. I have 4 creditors and haven't had any nasty letters yet. My biggest creditor has accepted my DMP.

I don't want my husband to find out my problems, could he find out?? Also, is it possible to improve your credit rating while on DMP. Also Natwest debt is made up of around £2000 in interest and charges, can I ask them to re-fund these to help reduce my debt?

I am still panicking and obviously this stress isn't good in my current condition. I just want to good advice and reassurance.

    Thanks,

    Hi gkh26

Regarding the £2000 in interest and charges from Natwest, you can definately claim back the charges with interest, but ask them to credit your account to reduce the debt. I am pretty sure you cannot claim back interest :o but it would be great if we could.
I did it with Barclaycard and Lloyds TSB CC whilst on my own payment plan. I reduced barclaycard by £1000. :j

I would recommend you sit down and come clean with your husband, not only will it reduce your stress levels, but things are never as bad as you imagine. ;)
I don't think he can find out by checking, but it only takes a simple mistake for him to see your mail or over hear a phone call from your creditors.

Hi everyone i am feeling alittle worried today some days i feel like this then other days i think why worry .

The worry is because of a letter i got from Lloyds credit card they accepted my DMP with CCCS last month which i thought was great but yesterday i got a letter from them cant remember exatly what it said but on the top it said Default Notice (i am not sure whether its a default notice or not )it said if i pay all my arrears in full in the next 7 days it would be stopped ,it went on to say if i did not pay i could go to court and accur costs .It said to phone them ASAP .
I did phone them because i am so worried as i thought only a few weeks ago they had agreed to my DMP they said they have for 6 months .
I wanted to know is this a default notice are they going to give me one and what exatly does this mean ?

I suspect they are about to pass your account to a Debt collection Agency (DCA) - they have to default you to enable them to do this

I would not worry to much as I would think your credit report is shot anyway and from all accounts DCA's are sometimes much better to deal with than your debtors ( especially Lloyds)

I'll second what louietudor said. Depending on which DCA they might pass you to it's got to be better than dealing with Lloyds!

Things are still going well on my DMP - Only the 1 letter this week from Barclaycard - My DMP is still fine, but they've decided to start charging interest again! They only promised to stop last month - so they haven't actually stopped at all

Lloyds (Bank Account) sent me a statement and they have now stopped interest - a month later than they said, but that's better than not at all + Egg look like they have stopped as my balance went down - However, my statements now don't appear online, only my balance, so I can't tell for definite.

So those that are just starting out - hang in there. It really does get better.

Oh and BT have agreed to change my phone number from Monday. Started getting lots (up to 8 a day) of calls from companies offering debt help so one of my creditors has obviously been selling my details. I've always been registered with the TPS so it's somewhat annoying, however changing my number is no hassle, my friends and family always use my mobile. My creditors have all been good and stopped calling. Just these annoying calls every day. Coming from about 4 different numbers (I assume different companies) and they don't tell you who they are so I can't report them.

    Hi Everyone,

Just a quick question. I've been getting loads of phone calls everyday from a number beginning 08701. I ignored them for a while but have started answering them and when I do it's quiet for a few seconds then the line goes dead. Any ideas? Is it anything to do with DCA's or my creditors do you think as I have just started my DMP and they won't have received the 1st payment yet. When I say a lot of calls I mean it could be up to 10 a day everyday including Sundays. Ridiculous.

You could try the website http://whocallsme.com/ thats who I've been using to try and track down who's phoning me. It diesn't always give you the detail, but the calls I've been receiving recently (as above) have all shown up as Either Accident Claims or debt Advice companies.

Excellent. I'll note the number down later and give it a try.

Hey everyone, just come across this really useful site and been reading through these pages, only up to page 21 so far so sorry if this question has been asked before.
Basically my situation is I graduated from uni with quite a lot of debt on credit cards and overdraft. Given the market HSBC refused a Graduate loan. This killed my chances for finance elsewhere. HSBC kindly offered me a managed loan, which after reading other postings, I want to avoid like the plague.
I owe about 15k, and the monthly payments are too much for me so I have completed the CCCS forms and will ring them on Monday to start a DMP. My question is I have an overdraft of £2k to HSBC and owe about £3k on a HSBC credit card.
I’ve read a few posts on here that HSBC close down your account if you enter a DMP. Is this true? Could they demand immediate repayment of the £2k? I’m not in a position to repay this at all, as my savings have been spent on my car and making sure I meet all my repayments. The thought of a demand for £2000 is seriously putting me off applying for a DMP. Any advice?
    Thanks very much
