    Hi wen3 and Angel Cake

Reclaiming charges credit card, store card and catalogue charges is really simple with Martins Guide, :j please see below the link to help you.

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/credit-card-charges

I have reclaimed £1,000 back from Barclaycard, £200 from Lloyds TSB trustcard and £200 from Captial One. :rotfl: This was before we did the DMP but we asked that they credit our account with the charges, this reduced our debt. As you are on DMP, I would suggest you slightly change the wording on the letter to advise you want them to reduce your debt. (It shows you want to pay off the debt and not just get your cash back).

With all of the above creditors we had to send both template letters from Martins Guide and then refer them to the Finanicial Ombudsman as they didn't want to cough up. This sounds more serious than it is. The Financial Ombudsman is free and all you are doing is copying from this website. No phone calls, all done by post !!

If you need any further advise, please ask as I really do believe that we wouldn't be in the financial mess if they didn't keep adding charges !

As if you didn't know that already!:D

They keep calling DH at work (rather irritatingly!) so he called them tonight. I spoke to them last week when they told me they had heard nothing (lie) from CCCS (tho that was loan account). When CCCS first sent out our proposals LLoyds CC immediately said no. They then told DH tonight that they had accepted payments but that they were expecting a payment on 22 April, which as they hadn't got , they were now chasing for. I have no idea how this can be, as our first payment to CCCS wasn't until 1 May and when we wrote with token payment advising of DMP, we advised it would start on 1 May. They said that they agreed that payment date with CCCS. I am sure they are just being stupid and if it wasn't for the fact that they keep ringing DH at work, I would just let them figure it out for themselves. Told DH to tell work that they are just trying to sell him a loan:rotfl: !

    Hi all!

I got my letter from CCCS on Saturday which was very quick considering I only contacted them on Thursday. I sent all my info today, hope I haven't forgot anything (probably have duh!) I went to the Post Office to get 5 postal orders to send off to my creditors along with my template letter from CCCS informing them about my proposed DMP. I felt a bit daft asking the clerk how much postal orders cost!! :p well I have always used cheques, felt a bit of a meany sending just a £1 so sent them all £2 instead :D

I contacted Child Benefit myself to change bank details after a helpful poster on here advised me to, at least I know if I have spoken to them myself I know it has more chance of getting done properly. I managed to get hold of NPower to tell them about my change of bank details and the woman said its too late to do anything now (payment is due on 6th) we'll send a letter informing you we couldn't get a payment and will ask for new bank details. Ok so by the time I get the letter and sort out my new bank details I will owe 2 payments but I will have money to cover this, its not like they are going to cut me off, if they aren't bothered then I won't worry about it either if that is the standard practice.

I called my phone company and asked to change my phone number, feeling a bit wimpish and at the moment I don't feel strong enough to hear the phone constantly ringing and dreading picking it up in case its someone asking why I didn't tell them I was in trouble, how much I should pay etc

So this is it, no going back now, have felt guilty, ashamed and sick to the stomach about it all, have cried a few times over the weekend worrying about my debt but I know deep down I have done the right thing. I just hope everything goes through ok now with CCCS, that heavy weight will be lifted and I will breathe again. Ok so I will be paying the DMP for the next 7 years  I am hoping with a bit of money I can save overall I can lower that length of time. But baby steps, one at a time, I will get there eventually and have certainly learnt a very dear (no pun intended) lesson.

cantwin - have you beeing having hiccups with CCCS or your creditors ?

Well as yet havnt heard anything back from CCCS yet been a week since we returned all our info papers to them (whats the average time?) And now its gone past the usual collection day for our creditors so expecting some letters through soon.
Nationwide are the only creditors whom we are in arrears(1 month) with and they have been ringing nearly every day even on Sunday! (dont they go to church!) had spoken (three times now) to them informing of all the CCCS details and telephone number and sent a token payment but doesnt seem to stop them ringing or asking to make a payment. just been telling them that i cant and to contact cccs they have been ok so far just seems to be a computer which must ring as when you pick up actual rings like you have rang them. just ignoring them now until more details come through from CCCS at least you can tell with caller id:rotfl: .

My "hiccups" not to do with cccs or creditors really, was at end of tether when I filled in online thingy bank overdraft not included I had trouble with this for some unknown reason felt at time had to sort this one out been with bank long time then some smaller debts turned up afterward.I thought the cccs budget very generous as I havent had money after bills in such a long time so I thought I could pay it all off out of that.First lesson learnt!!anyway payed dmp march 1st was diagnosed with copd on 6th dd had operation on 18th tumble dryer broke (still is)oh I could go on ,anyway my main mistake was not actually speaking to cccs rang in desperation last week lady was fantastic cant fault them at all, creditors of which there are 8 have excepted all but mint and ge money not really worried about them only ge money phone and I dont answer, debt currently 30k dmp 11years.but I am better off than I was pre dmp good luck to all just about to start wish Id sorted it sooner

    Hi Kebabed
Talking about your debt makes it real but at the same time takes a weight off your shoulders that you are tackling it. Well done for posting and everyone on this thread is fantastic.:D
