I have never had it but then again I have never been able to talk to anyone. Remember I manage my own so it was all done quietly and my burden has never been voiced.
Personally I think its a good thing its kind of like when a bruise comes out its good its on the way to mending.
Read back in a couple of weeks and judge for yourself what the journey has been like!0 -

Thank you so so much for your advice, it really means a lot to me to hear from people that understand what you are going through too.
Well I managed to dig out an old bank book I have for a basic account with the Coventry Building Society, no overdraft just ATM card. I haven't bothered with the account since 2002, had £6.99 in and after updating the book a massive £7.16 :T at this rate I'll soon have my debts clearednow I have to transfer debits and payments in to the account, so I'll be stuck on the phone all tomorrow morning constantly pressing button 1, then 2 and 1 again before I speak to a human.
I've felt so up and down today thinking of this DMP business, I know I have done the right thing but it's the fear of the unknown thats causing me to worry. As the saying goes if I could turn back time, if only eh?DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -

I have sometimes got so fed up with all the options that I have started pressing star button constantly and sometimes the call centre system gets so confused that it throws you to speak to someone immediately - who said that?"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Thing is that it may seem scarey now but its a lot better than leaving it and things mounting up to the point of not being able to afford to live etc
Honestly in a week or two you will read this and wonder what you were thinkng but its only the power of hignsight (can never spell that!) that you will see it.0 -
Hi all, some great posts over the last few days! Well done to all and for all the support that is going on!!:A
Just been paid and today and OH salary and mine have gone into the new bank account (how lovely to see credits)!!:j
Although I only contacted PayPlan aronnd 3 /4 weeks ago and things are still going through, I fee I have been on this DMP road for months now. I have learnt so much over the last few weeks from this thread and from feeling initially high after contactind Payplan to a real low thinking how it has come to this and then the worry of calls / letters etc.. I sort of feel OK now.(touch wood, calls / letter not too bad)!
I think it is that for the first time, our salaries have gone in to the bank and I do not have that sick feeling of thinking how am I going to pay everyone and what am I going to live on this month!!!!
I know there is still a long way to go and I am still waiting to hear if any of the creditros have accepted (going to call Payplan later - will keep you updated) but I now have resinged myself to the fact, I am on a DMP, Creditors can not have money I dont have and for the first time in ages, I feel OK about things, and I have money this month!:T
I guess I am trying to say, for you guys that have just started the DMP journey (I know I am still new to it just 3/4 weeks in), you will start to feel better - just keep posting queries and worries here and someone here will help!

Morning all, I wondered if someone could just reassure me this morning. I sent off my token payments this week and now feel like I'm playing the waiting game.
We have some big creditors ie: over 5k but we also have some small ones for £50-£200. Empire stores are a £50 debt and I just received an email form them to say they received my £2 payment and has been credited to my account. Is this a good sign that they might accept the dmp?
I really want to be able to start crossing our creditors off my list to make myself feel better and know that I can't be sure until I have it in writing from them. In peoples experience do creditors that you have small debts with (under £200) normally accept your dmp?
Would be grateful if anyone could tell me their experiences!

simbalou.
I think it all depends on your creditors. I have Argos (£452) who have accepted and also Egg (£14,500+) Who have also accepted. Different size of debts but with the pro rata payments set in relation to the size of the debt for each creditor they are all treated fairly.
Hope it all pans out OK for you

I had Empire it was around £1k they never accepted the DMP but they did send it to a DCA who did accept it and they did it fairly quickly so the charges were not big.0
