  • is it normal for the CCCS not to tell you if people have accepted your offers? I know they have recieved my first payment but I have heard nothing off Barclaycard or capital one for ages and I don't know if halifax or MBNA have accepted my other offers? I know that my MBNA loan were good with it when I explained that they would be gettin thier payment! I'm really confused now because all of my finances are changing and I think it's going to be a bumpy ride as MBNA and halifax have said that if they don't get as much as they want off the CCCS I'll still be responsible for the difference (I've ranted about this before on here!) and may still take legal action!! As my payments may be dropping CCCS have said Bankruptcy may be an idea but I only owe under £10k and I think BR is a bit much for such a relatively small amount of money plus I would loose my car which is on a personal contract plan and I need it for work, plus I would still owe fiat about £3K in the diff of the value of the car and amount oweing still! I'm very very confused now!! Help!!!

Sorry I cannot help with what information CCCS give you as I have never dealt with them.

I agree it is a bit wrong (for want of a better word!) to go bankrupt over such a small amount.

I know common sense does not come into this but if you only owe a total of 10k I think any company that takes you through the courts would be frowned upon. You yourself can see people come in here owing tens of thousands.

All I remember from my early days is it takes ages to get things running smoothly (or so it seems at the time!) companies play games, put threats out to what they will do. Most of them never materalise they are trying to squeeze every last penny out of you and when it doesn't work they tend to accept.

I realise none of this is going to be very helpful to you but I didn't want to ignore you post!

You are not responsible for extra that they want, you have put forward your genuine budget and its tough on MBNA that is what is in the pot - you cannot manufacture more!
  • thanks!! Part of me can keep clam by thinking well even if I do end up in court over any of these debts any sensible court would see that I have done all I can and rule that I cannot pay any more!!

I just realised that my car loan will be paid off in may 2009 so I will have extra every month to pay things back... am hoping that follwoing my review I can move onto a low start dmp then increase in a year when my car goes...Apparently as I am now it will take 11 yrs to clear

Just been on phone to CCCS and she told me that I should ginore any letters/ calls from my creditors as they have all been sent the info and should be leaving me alone!!

CCCS didn't let me know who had accepted or not. I just found out by:

    1. Who stopped adding interest when monthly statements came in;
    2. One rang after 6 months to say they had only agreed for 6 months and I said how was I meant to know that - and they said they probably would have told CCCS
    3. I did my credit report after a few months and discovered that some "payment arrangements" were noted on there ;)
    4. Some did write to me direct to let me know they had accepted ;)

Its hard to keep a level head when its your finances. I managed to make myself ill over the last few days over money! Its amazing how rational we can be for other peoples problems just not our own lol!

I should imagine a years time when your car loan has gone you will be able to dent that debt extremly quick. We never know whats round the corner in life I am pretty sure that all the debts you have today will be gone before 11 years.

Glad you got hold of CCCS they are the ones in the know! From what you said they don't sound concerned its probably language they hear all the time.
  • thanks newlywed... I'm going to have to keep checking my statements.... Have been avoiding looking as I hate not seeing the amounts drop quickly lol! Plus capitalone have just decided to stop sending me any and my online access has been frozen!! Will have to check them all as it's the freezing interest I'm most hoping for!! I know Halifax have stopped charging me for being od, I currently have no od but am od by lots of money! plus I do have a pending claim over almost the same amount in charges lol!

I think I thought I would have no more worry etc once I handed all my paper work over to CCCS guess it's just a matter of becoming hard and ignoring letters and calls!!

  • oh dear... just been online... Halifax have credited the payment but are still adding interest so at the min I pay 60 to them but only 30 gets paid off my total amount... so it really is gonna take years! should have known they would be funny about it and not actually try to help as they never have before
