Just give them a ring or email and then copy the letter and monument details to them. Travelling restrictions I take it you mean holidaying and not working abroad? Holidaying only restriction will you be able to afford it without credit! Working and visas could be more complicated and I have no idea but abroad to me at the moment is wales and scotland of which I am going abroad twice this year lol!
  • Just been reading the threads. I have finally admitted I am in debt. I owe 43k

I have been living on my credit cards for everything due to the debts

I was always up to my overdraft very easily each month but at least managed to pay all the main bills and the minimum payments on the cards

But now that is getting harder. So I looked for CSS and done an on line check and they advised that I could go on the debt repayment. Just waiting for the paperwork.

I am not too worried about creditors but am concerned about Halifax as I owe them around 10k and have read here that they can be awarkard.

Neverthe less if they do then I will contact the Chief Exec and that will stop them.

At last I feel I can get on top. Changing my bank on Thu so at least my salary will go in and at least my morgage and bills will be paid

I know it will take a while but at least I have made the first step in admitting I am in debt. I finally have just cut up my three credit cards - what a relief. I will admit that I did draw some cash out on one today but decided enough was enough.

I wish I found this site ages ago then the debt would not have been so hugh. But it is a start.

Debt is so easy to get into. All my credit card people always wrote and raised my level of the card.

  • Thanks for reply, I wondered about holidays as we are being treated to holiday abroad later this year and didnt want to miss out. Thanks.

Hiya - I can't help as I haven't dealt with my creditors this way, but somebody should be along soon who will be able to help.

Don't worry about token payments they are just a sweetner and also bank holidays means things are taking longer to bank and clear. They are purely to keep them quiet while you set your DMP up.

gerri! - I like your fighting spirit - it is important if a DMP is right for you not to be put off by what companies will think etc, if you can't afford to get by in life then you need to do something whether they will like it or not!

No i do not think it means they have accepted it just because they have cashed your cheque .Lloyds credit card cashed mine but they have refused my DMP payment .
