Hi i won a ipod shuffle.Plugged it into the USB port and it worked though i had all sorts of trouble trying to install it etc.I then found a site that goes through the problem but when i went to plug it into the usb again nothing happened and hasn't since then either. So bascially what i'd like to know is is there any way of manually doing it etc?
So can i plug it in and then get the device? box up manually?
Thanks

Sometimes a usb hub lacks enough power to cope with multiple devices. Have you got iTunes installed, what are you using software wise? You are very vague with your post. Please support my thanks button if I have been of any help

what is your usb 1.1 or 2.0 as the shuffle will be 2.0 also this happens to me once with a card reader/mp3 player and it was the battery...have you got the correct software...can't think of anything else...apart from firewall...is your firewall blocking the program from opening up...:D

Dalkirst, well done on your great win,to find usb device manually click start - my computer - removable hardware, you should find your device listed there, this is what i do when i plug my phone in via usb and it doesnt come up automatically, hope this helps;)A freebie a day sends a smile my way!

Thanks but i'm on vista premium and there isn't a removable hardware option.
I did install itunes yes and running AOL if that helps a bit more.Sorry i don't have a clue how to look which USB i'm running but as it worked the first time(and maybe another i'm not sure now) would that be it?Darren0 -
Sorry for bumping this but i was wondering if anyone knew an answer to another question. As i said i'm running Vista premium but nearly always when i turn the PC off and put it to 'sleep' it keeps turning itself back on.There's no one near it or moving the mouse to make it come on.Anyone any ideas as to why it keeps turning itself back on?
ThanksDarren0 -

click on start
click on computer
this should say
"Hard Disk Drives"
then under that it should say
"Devices with removable storage"
if you have a usb plugged in the pc anywhere it'll show up here
as mine says removable disk F drive kingston...
as I have a usb drive in that is made by kingston...
if you haven't got anything there then you wont have a usb drive plugged in anywhere...so it would be your hard drive that it is trying to read...:D

scroll down to "personalize"
click on screen saver
click on change power settings at the bottom of the box
here you can have a look at what your computer is set too...so click on them and see if any are set wrongly...
it sounds like your computer is coming back to life at the least little sound motion...or noise motion...when shutting down your computer...
click start
go to the little arrow and click on it
then click on shutdown...
hope this helps Ice:D
also in here left hand side "choose what the buttons do" click on this and see if they are set to shutdown...

The shuffle doesn't come with any software it's just the shuffle and the usb cable:/
