Apologize - as this thread is too long; the following question may have been answered but it is difficult to find.
I am trying to transfer to ICESave - and as a proof they ask for UK Passport copy for name identification - I am citizen of another country, will the PP copy of other countries work as proof?Recession - if you are forced to drink beer at your home.
Depression - if you have no beer to drink at all!
I don't see any of the above - so where is it (recession)?0 -
I transferred my last years ISA + interest from Lloydstsb to Bradford and Bingley as it was my understanding that I could top-up to this years top amount of £3600 but now I'm told I an't. I'm sure I heard on the radio or read that it could be done?0

Previous years cash ISA funds:
Hi,
Does anyone know which providers will accept just transfers in from previous tax years funds. I've committed this years £3600 to Barclays Tax Haven. I still have several years ISAs with Kent Reliance - much as I like them 5.76% isn't competitive... I have looked at IceSave, but I can't see that one can open an account with anything but new money plus transfer in...
Any ideas?Free thinker.:cool:0 -
Hi Mee - there's an article on Cash ISA Transfers listing the best-buy providers accepting transfers in.
Icesave's application process asks two questions then proceeds to the actual application:1) Have you subscribed to a Cash ISA in the current tax year 2008/2009?2) Would you like to transfer your current Cash ISA(s) held with another provider to our Easy Access ISA?After that you should be able to open an account then be provided with a form to send to Kent Reliance.
If it still doesn't work, there's always a slightly lower rate of 6% from Principality Building Society.0 -
Hi guys
Hope somebody can help
Im trying to transfer around 10 grand from an Alliance and Leciester Direct ISA account (paying 4.75%) to the Pricipalitys E-Isa (6%) It looks like I am able to transfer the money however I would have thought that ALL of the money would have been transferred over to the new E-Isa.
Ive run through the Principalitys application and it appears from the way it reads that it transfers just £3600 from the A&L (the initial deposit).....it later asks for the source of the initial deposit being the A&L however that would to me mean that just £3600 would be transferred........they havent made the application very clear to be honest
Has anybody gone through and done this?
Thanks for any advise0 -

could anyone tell me if it is allowed to open a new ISA account for current year and transfer previous ISA accounts to another provider which is newly applied in the same year? I am very confused by so called 'only one NEW ISA account is allowed in a tax year'!!:mad:0

You can open only one new ISA in any one tax year.
You can transfer existing ISAs opened in previous years as many times as you want.
Simply, ISAs that you'd aleady opened in past years are never considered as new ones if all you are doing is moving the money from one provider to another even if these are transferred to completely new providers.
Well I say "simply" but I know it can be confusingI'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -

Thanks suelees1. To speak simply, I have opened a new cash ISA account for this year's 3,600. And I also want to transfer my previous money into another new cash ISA account (I've never been with this provider). Is that allowed?0
