    Hi There

Got a quick question if anyone can help me with.

When trying to transfer my existing ISA savings, I'm asked 'How many previous years' cash ISAs would you like to transfer?'

Does this mean that I have to think back how many years I have been saving cash ISAs for? For example if I had been saving cash ISAs for 10 years and never withdrawn a penny would the answer to this question be ten?

I have all my cash ISA savings from previous years' in the one account at the moment, which allowed me to transfer in last year.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

What a daft question.. who asked that? Normally you would only be asked "how much of your previous years ISA would you like to transfer".

    Hi Irishkeet,

Interest seems competitive, however beware that Post Office ISAs are deposited with Bank of Ireland so you don't get FSCS Compensation if Bank of Ireland were to go bust, you would have to rely instead in the Irish Safety Scheme. Personally I would also consider other alternatives.
For example Dumfermeline are also offering 3% for 1 year, or you can consider isas with instant access at 2.7%.

You can check out a comprehensive list at kazza's thread (including ISAs which accept transfers) here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=4603369&postcount=1

    Hope this helps!

I've written it down wrong , it actually says 'How many existing Cash ISAs would you like to transfer?'

    Sorry.

I'm still a bit confused as to the answer I need to give though?

You can transfer the whole amount or a partial amount from older ISA's. For this years ISA the whole amount must be transfered after which you can continue to add to it up to the years allowance of £5100.

You could be transferring (ie. combining) more than one ISA. By the sounds of it you just have the one. I have previously transferred two old ISAs into one new ISA account.

    Hi guys:)

Im looking at transferring my ISA from the bank of cyprus over to Brimingahm midshires. i recieved the transfer forms through and was wondering if somebody could lend a hand, the bank of cyprus don't provide you with an online account with just an isa and also don't send you updates to let you know how its doing, therefore i have no clue about my account number and sort code. Has anyone else who has been with the bank of cyprus had this problem>?
