I haven't tried that. I did try prizing (sp?) one out with a knife, but not a hot one. I just think that if I put any heat at all, the edge that I touch will start to cook immediately!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Hi, hope someone can help...
I had a frozen, uncooked chicken which I cooked yesterday. I am planning on making stock with the carcass and then freezing the stock. But then would I be able to defrost the stock at a later date, add to another dish and freeze any leftovers of that dish?
Also how long would homemade beef dripping last in the fridge for?0 -
I think that technically you shouldn`t do this BUT i do it all the time
I make stock from the carcass and freeze then defrost it to make soup or stew and then freeze it in portions.
I always make sure that its very well heated up afterwards though.
Not sure on the dripping but i would imagine around a week - that how long i would keep it for.

How about standing the base of the ice cube tray in hot water for 15 seconds at a time, the hot water should turn the eggs into a bit of a runny mess, but that should be enough to help them slip out...
Failing that, yes, defrost the whole tray and have a few spanish omelettes. Or put them into the pancake mix tomorrow!Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0 -

but I have 9 sheets of fresh filo pastry to use up before the end of the week, it was so easy I think I'll make another but do you think it will freeze? I thought I'd make it right up to the point of popping it in the oven, but pop it in the freezer instead, will this affect the feta do you think.
Does cheese freeze okay?:staradmin0 -
That does look good- just added it to my recipies.
If you look at the comments further down, you'll see Joanne has written that it freezes well- so, i'd say that yes, it'll be fineThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. Sorry everyone, another one from me
I was planning on making homemade tortillas later it has the usual suspects flour, oil etc. I was wondering how long would they keep fresh?
I used to buy the packets and some would be use within a couple of weeks, others had a massive long life.
I have frozen the shop bought before and never had a problem so I don't think there would be any problem with these would there? Also how long could I keep them in the freezer?
Thanks allyou are all lifesavers for me

Hi Aarons mummy,
They will keep fresh for a couple of days if they're well wrapped. I usually freeze them (again well wrapped) but try to use them within a month or so because although they don't go off in the freezer they can get freezer burn and the texture deteriorates.
I'll add this to the quick questions on freezing thread later.
