many thanks yep frozen raw cooked yesterday and going to refreeze again

Hi, if its still going to be too much to use, remember to slice into portions before you freeze it. That way you only need to defrost a small amount next time.

Soup is one of those things that breaks my rules and people are fine eating! I always think that you shouldn't reheat anything more than once and people frequently have a pan of soup on the hob reheating and sitting out and they are fine! I don't but others do! Personally I wouldn't refreeze a soup made from cooked meat that was already frozen. If you had raw meat, made a soup then froze fine, but not cooked meat frozen then made into soup and refrozen, but I don't have any guidelines to back me on this!

This site says it is fine to refreeze thawed food, so long as it was defrosted in a fridge rather than microwave, and I have with my turkey and ham leftovers - froze the meat until I had time to deal with it, turned it into 2 turkey and ham pies, froze one and ate the other. As long as the frozen portion is reheated properly it will be fine. HTH

i was gonna make pie theres enought for my big pie tray which would make enough for tea and the next days lunch but i now have no soup left in my freezer so wanted to stock up on soup but i'm abit worried about killing everyone so i might just make a pie and go buy stuff for soup and freeze it so i don't make everyone sick since they've just got over a yummy bug

The UK government completely contradicts the US govt.! http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/asksam/keepingfoodsafe/asksamstoringpreparing/

It says you should not refreeze raw meat that has been frozen without cooking it.

  • I have made some tuna & sweetcorn pasta. There is enough left over over for another meal, so would it be possible to freeze? If so, when I want to eat it do I just let it defrost and they give it a quick zap in the microwave?

    Many thanks

Can anyone tell me , can you freeze single cream ?
