MONEY MORAL DILEMMA: Should Karl Pay?

  • If Fluffy doesn't stop using my garden as a toilet, it's not kittens Susan will be worrying about but the damn cat's untimely end. And that goes for Tom and Karl, come to think of it.

(Of course, like this moral dilemma, mine is a hypothetical reply.)
  • If she had any sense she would have kept quiet about her surprise litter. Karl should be asking her for money, kittens are very saleable at the moment, even your ordinary moggies!!

That doesn't even begin to be a dilemma. If Susan didn't want Fluffy getting knocked up then she should have either had her neutered or kept her in.

As for whether Tom really was the culprit, even if Susan caught Tom and Fluffy in flagrante that proves nothing. Indeed, it is possible that each kitten has a different father, female cats are not fussy! Asking for DNA evidence for *every* kitten should be enough to shut Susan up!

But even if Tom is the father of one or more of the kittens, Karl is still not liable, not in law or morally. Depsite this, it's irresponsible of Karl not to have had Tom neuteured.

I totally agree. Every kitten CAN be fathered by a different Tom and everyone should have done the decent thing and got their cat neutered/spayed. Apparently female cats can crave to have kittens again once they have had a litter and then you get them spayed, so that in itself is cruel. I should know, i did it to my cat and she now carrys a small toy mouse everywhere and meaows when she cant find it! Cute but annoying!:rotfl:

Rubbish, of course he shouldn't. It was her responsiblity just as much to get her female cat neutered if she didn't want it haven't kittens. Mind you, Karl should have done the same to prevent this and the awful smells toms make...

Sorry but like kids, if you are irresponsible enough not to get your cat neutered then yes you should make a contribution to your neighbours kittens. It is also your cat that stinks when it sprays in everyone elses house. There is nothing worse than an unneutered Tom cat. PAY UP, and then get him neutered!!!
  • No, I don't think Karl should pay. The lady should have had her female spayed if she did not want her cat to have kittens. Speaking from experience, feeding a stray cat and then ending up with four cats has taught me a lesson! I had to get the cats protection league to catch the 2 that lived in my garden and then pay for the 2 I have living in my house. I do not begrudge it one bit as you love your little pets, then its up to you to look after them.

Having kittens is the best fun in the world and I enjoyed coming home every night to see them. It is not expensive as they feed from their mum. You can find homes for them once they are 12 weeks old, its not difficult.

Karl......... if I were you, I would get your little moggy neutered! Then you would not have ladies looking for child support!
  • They should each pay half for the upkeep of the kittens because both of them were too stupid to get their cats neutered or spayed! They should both also ensure the kittens get good homes with people responisble enough to get them neutered. It's not expensive, especially for Toms.

In fact, I think if you're going to have any pets, you should think first about whether you want them to have any offspring. Then if you can't afford to have them "done" simply don't buy one.

I worked with a girl who was always complaining about her tom cat staying out for days on end, being really smelly and spraying everywhere indoors. But she didn't see why she should have him neutered, though, because it wasn't her problem if he fathered any kittens!

After you spay and neuter all the peeps, then you can spay and neuter (speechless-smiley-040.gif) all the cats! biggrin.giflaughing-smiley-014.gif

Karl should have half the kittens and pay for their upkeep. Susan should have the other half and pay for theirs.
If Karl then wants to sell his that's fine by me.
