Hi Malc
Or any Eon rep, can you confirm Staywarm is dead, or that its closing for good after the end of this years contract. Friend told me his contract hadn't been renewed this year due to Ofgem's RMR
Morning Wolf3
Yes, I can confirm, the Staywarm product has been withdrawn.
We started telling affected customers a couple of weeks ago.
Staywarm closed for new customers last September. From 7 October 2013, existing Staywarm customers will no longer be able to renew. We'll continue to honour existing contracts, though, with the last customers moving off in October 2014.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more details as will be happy to help.

Right - this confirmation from the eon representative surely now means that current staywarm users can "fill their boots" with electricity from now until when the scheme is withdrawn knowing that whatever amount of electricity they use will/cannot be used against them in setting what will be a non staywarm tariff after next renewal. Normally although the monthly payment is fixed for a 12 month duration it is adjusted accordingly based on your current level of use - therefore as the scheme is ending all staywarm customers can be very cosy this winter with unlimited use and no worries of a hike in the tariff next renewal, cos there won't be staywarm to adjust - fill yer boots whilst you can :T;):j0 -
Thanks Malc,
I've got what i need to know from one of your advisors and from what i gleaned "filling your boots" isn't a great idea. Whilst you wont pay anything extra on the Staywarm tariff, the quote you will receive on an alternative tariff at the end will be based on the last 12 months usage. Therefore the quote you would receive will be considerably higher than what you might think. I don't think i know any energy company that will accept an excuse of "i thought i would leave my heating on this year, so i wont use as much next year"!!!0 -

Obviously an advisor from eon would say that wouldn't they !!
As for adjusting their tarriff based on what you might have used during the last 12 months - I doubt very much one would stay with Eon as there are much better deals to be struck - so go on - fill ya boots !!0 -

Is anyone else having problems with E.ON when their Staywarm contract finishes?
I was left with three days between my Staywarm contract terminating and my transfer to nPower.
Initially, my online account showed a credit balance of £7.39. I kept checking the account in order to detect how much I was being billed for those last three days and suddenly one day it showed a debit balance of £519.52! I sent an email via their contact page and got a reply apologising that there was an error on their system and saying it would be corrected. A few days later it appeared as a zero balance.
At the end of last week, the correction was cancelled, and it went back to showing £519.52. I sent another email and got a reply that was clearly sent without reading my email (or anything else relevant) saying there was still a balance because the DD had been cancelled and asking me to send a payment.
Very frustrating, as there is always a two or three day lapse between message and reply.......0 -
I wondered if E.ON Company Representative: Malc was around and able to advise?0
