yes you're right the vouchers certainly are a bonus - I've emailed tesco anyway just to ask the question so if they reply I'll post their answer.0

I used the £10 off £50 one and it accepted it at the checkout, but now I've looked at the tesco terms and conditions it states that you cant use them against medicines {I had clariton in my order which took my total amount to just over the £50} - I also had loads of bogofs which took it down to £33 anyway. Is my reasoning correct do you think and could I get tesco to honour th ecoupon or should I just put it down to experience?
my shopping has been delivered before and the coupon not accepted. said something like "we will email you in 24hrs with the reason why"
I phoned the customer services (number on top of invoice) and asked why voucher wasn't deducted. The very nice Scottish Man didn't hesitate in refunding me the £10. He said that sometimes they don't go through, and the reason is unknown. He didnt seem to check my shop before offering a refund either, so I reckon it's worth a phonecall!0 -
I have just placed an order at tesco and my discount codes were not accepted until I had got passed the magic £50 mark thats ok but I had used bogofs and these were ignored. i.e. they were treated as one item, in the past when i bought bogof to get the total to £50 they were both priced before discounts were deducted, is this a new idea I enjoyed using their bogofs to get a better discounts.0

Robdog - I placed an order just a day before you, and the bogof's weren't deducted straight away. My delivery came yesterday and I got £78+ goods for £56 after bogof's and a £10 voucher off here.
I hope they havent just caught on!0 -
HOLsale wrote:i've heard it's possible to order loads of bogofs to get the total to the minimum amount (such as £50) then use your discount code so that when they actually take the bogof's off your bill in the end you only wind up paying around £20 because when they actually take the money they then discount the items so if you had all bogofs and spent exactly the minimum spend of £50 your order in the end would be £25 minus the £10 discount PLUS the delivery fee of say £4.99 so basically you would get your entire order for £19.99
am i correct in believing that they do this, i'm certain i've heard of people doing this successfully but i want to know before i try it as i can't afford to be stung
Worked for me. I got bogoffs plus other bits with delivery it came to £63 I paid £350 -

I have just done a £75 shop and the system that banks the codes and is supposed to use the best discount each time has ignored a £10 and a £15 voucher in my bank even though they do not specify a minimum spend required. Usually a £75 shop is at least enough to be able to use the £10 voucher.
Any ideas? In the past when this has happened I have phoned Tesco and they will refund the money, but they always ask me where I got the code from!Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
Please post hints and tips on HOW to use the grocery codes here. The other thread, which is sticky, can we please keep for codes only, so that its easier to find the codes. Thanks and keep on bargain hunting;)Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
