I had a thought...it's a money-saving thought. I'm going to have a look online for a manual to a sewing machine I was given (I know there's a site which offers them, and has threading instructions - I'm a complete novice!), BUT, I wondered whether anyone here may have the same machine and be prepared to photocopy the manual in return for covered costs (photocopying and postage)?
It is: Singer Samba 6 (sewing machine)
On the same lines, I wondered whether this would work as a thread where people place calls for manuals to their recovered / second hand / old appliances? I would be willing to copy mine for my Bread Machine, blender, little TV and two VCRs...silly to list all my household appliances. But my thinking is, if people only request a manual if they would also be willing to provide a copy of a different manual for someone else, then it's a kind of OS manual exchange, helping us to fully use all our carboot finds?...
Let me know if this is inappropriate here...I know there have been manuals offered in various threads, but thought this may be one we could return to for all appliances...just a thought.

Nice idea.
Links and addresses etc to manufacturers would be the first port of call that people could post in response to a query since many manufacturers either provide copies on line or will post a copy to those in need.
As such, in my official board guide voice, I'd like to make this a collection thread - ie requests and replies only - with chatty posts edited out.
If it takes off I'll add it to our collections, and if it gets really big I'll index it.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Great idea Loadsabob!
I have lots of manuals that I'd be happy to copy and post but my request to day is for a photocopy of a Frister Rossman Cub 4 sewing machine manual, I'd be happy to pay the expenses involved0 -

Morning All,
Hoping somebody out there might be able to help me (Please??)
I've got a Tower slow cooker that my mum gave me - it's positively ancient. I, in my oh so cleverly disorganised way, have managed to 'misplace' the manual for it. Does anyone know how / where i might get a replacement copy?
I've done google searches to no avail.
Thanks for your help
LoveI'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
Got one - what would you like to do, borrow it? or I could copy some of it (it's a recipe book too)0

Oh Wow - what a star!! Thank you.
Dont mind - what's easiest for you. I'm more than happy to cover any postage / copying expenses. What about emailing it - do you have a scanner?
Do you want to pm me to arrange?
