    :hello: Hello!

All quiet here today, puppy asleep, worn out after visitors this morning and a walk over the green. Very cold here but I have a crockpot full of Elona's recipe for pea and ham soup simmering away and smelling delish!

Well tomorrow dd has appointment with the neurologist so hopefully we will know more soon, fingers crossed. We are all just trying to keep busy and not to worry.

Hillstep (((hugs))) Bemuzed (((hugs))) you are both in my thoughts and prayers

Hester - Your patience with Katie amazes me! Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful grand daughter!

Churchmouse - well done on the £10 win but how annoying after the build up that it wasn't for more!

:hello: Hello Nelski! Glad you had a lovely holiday!

Shez - I would love to try making Aussies impossible pie but rarely have 4 eggs to spare, wonder if I could cut the ingrediants down to half and make a baby one?

(((hugs))) Queenpig - took me 6 years before dd came along but she was worth the wait!

    Love and (((hugs))) to all

    Catz x

Best of luck for your DD's appt tommorrow Catz. I'll be thinking of you both. x

Pink has just called to say she's getting on the plane and OH is driving back up.

I saw the nurse this afternoon who agreed about the infection so she has got me a script for antibiotics and will see me again tommorrow.

One of the school mums kindly took the girls for the afternoon so I've had my feet up. Tea is ready courtesy of Pink so I'm in for an easy night I think. :D

    Take care all.

    Haribo x

ps... Shez... Pink offers her "services" for free but she can seriously deplete your wine rack. You have been warned. ;):D

PPS... PenPen...I meant to say please thank Penglette for the lovely card. I knew it was to nice to have been one of yours.:p ;):D She's a very talented young lady. x

I tried the Impossible pie yesterday, and it worked! Everyone loved it, and it's gone in my "Staples" recipe book!
    Thanks Kathy!!!

The Penglette read this over my shoulder. She now has a Cheshire Cat grin, and her head has swelled so much she's having difficulty exiting the room  I, meanwhile, have struck Haribo from my card list for evermore :p

Churchmouse - drinks all round on you, then

Catznine - everything crossed for you and DD. Glad to hear my namesake continues to thrive :T

    Hi Everyone

(((hugs))) Hillstep and Bemuzed, also anyone else who'd like one. catznine - fingers crossed for dd tomorrow.

HJ - A housework demon, and a freezer full of fresh cooked food, in return for some wine - sounds a good deal to me and the wine rack is full:rolleyes: ! Pink - we have a Lidl and an Aldi;).

Has anyone found an alternative for coconut for the Impossible Pie - DH does not like coconut.

CM - I get my lottery tickets on line, I am now used to the exciting news emails, often only for £5 on the Thunderball. I've decided that if it is that exciting they will call me.

Walk around the shopping centre this morning. Got two polo neck jumpers in 100% pure wool for 9.95€ each, and a cardigan for DH for the same price - in Zara men.

Got the easel out this pm, and got a outline of the picture I am going to have a go at painting on the paper.

    Nothing else to waffle on.

Thank you for the kind thoughts for dd really do appreciate them. It doesn't matter how old they get you will always worry about your kids, just want her to get better asap.

Tonight we had pea and ham soup cooked in the slow cooker to Elonas recipe:T and OH wants to tell you Elona that the soup is souperb!;) Definately one to repeat, we used a bacon hock from Jimmys Farm - so much meat on it (enough for another 2 meals) and it just fell off the bone! and the veg from the organic box, so was very nourishing, Penny the puppy is also enjoying the scraps:D, yes Pen pen she is definately thriving and so full of energy and mischief! I must sort out an up to date photo of her to bore you all with!:D Off to puppy training class tonight so hopefully that will wear her out some more!

Butternut squash is cooked and prepped ready to make butternut squash rissotto tomorrow (dd's and my favourite) just need to buy some parmesan cheese in the morning.

Haribo - don't do too much too soon, plenty of rest should get you over that infection asap. How lovely that your sister could get over to look after you.
Pink - (nudging dg out of the way!:D ) we have an Aldi just around the corner!:D and plenty of red wine! Worth a try!;)

  • Hi
Hope that you don't mind me jumping in and posting. I have been reading this board for a while and decided last week to make changes to our home life. After my second child ( 6 months ago) I became a stay at home mum and also a carer for my first child so money is tight.

I have been totally inspired by the posts on the OS board.

Yesterday I made a huge beef stew in the slow cooker which I have frozen and today I made stock using yesterday's chicken carcass which I then turned into soup and a chicken pie for tonight. I even roasted some potatoes using the fat from the stock! I have put the left over chicken in the freezer for another pie next week.

Hopefully this is a good start towards changing our wasteful ways.

Just a quick question. I made the pie using left over meat from the roast and frozen stock from last week. There is lots left so can I keep it? Can I freeze it again although the chicken has been cooked twice?

Hiya, a late post from me as I've been busy today.

Big hugs to those in need of one and there are quite a few people on here who need one. :grouphug:

My day has consisted of taking girls to/from school, checking parent's house, visiting bank, shopping in Aldi and Asda. I also find that putting the shopping away takes up so much time too.
I made a ham/tom spag sauce for tea which we had with pasta. Yesterday I made a load of chocolate flapjacks and a lovely banana cake, so we're still working our way through all of them!:D
Not much else to type from me and I should go to bed soon as I'm feeling really tired tonight.
