STILL not regarded as well enough to go into town - this is getting beyond a joke now.
It's Friday afternoon, i SHOULD be in at least one of the Inverness Boots branches, but oh no im banished to the computer, and i dont need enough things to warrent an interent order, sob sob.
Funnily enough, the shares were up today according to the local radio. You'd think they'd be down if poor old advantage_card hasn't been allowed near one for a week!
Don't need anything from FCUK so that won't appeal to me but will see if i get the Toni and Guy one as i want the conditioner.
Please let me get lots of points next week to make up!my advantage_card is like gold dush0 -
Hi Puddytat ( BTW great name ).... cannot really blame BOOTS as false info was given by TCOOK employee clearly wanting to take my booking there & then ( commission for her sale I presume ) have expained all this to TCOOK in 2 letters.. that I had waited several months for the right holiday to come along to take advantage of the points offer ... I was amazed by a SENIOR customer relations executive reply that as there may be many other people in the same position I could not & would not be made the exception to the rule and she was very sorry but hoped I will still enjoy the 2 holidays I have booked with them ..... I am in the process of trying to cancel both holidays as I feel cheated by them but again been told if I do this I will LOSE all the money I have paid as deposits ..... I will however be seeking legal advice !
This is outrageous! if everyone is being told different things, the offer needs to be clarified. have you considered contacting watchdog (BBC Prog) about this? I believe that on this site somewhere there is a site listed which will help you complain effectively. Perhaps worth a try?
Good luck and keep at them
Rxr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Something exciting to spend all your points on

So, what toys are they going to have that might rub us up the wrong way? ::)
::)
Well - someone had to be the first to say it ;D
PS ad_card, did ya get your pm?0 -
Can't see us Highlanders getting the naughty items @ our Boots somehow.
Seeing as an Ann Summers outlet was banned from opening due to church opposition when the shoppign centre was re-done.
It says *store-bye-store* basis for these items - id be far too embarrasessed to buy that sort of stuff @ boots anyway, im far too well known by the staff now!my advantage_card is like gold dush0 -
If anyone has any vouchers for the soft toys that they are not likely to use,the school where my sister works does shoe boxes up for less fortunate children for xmas with various bits and pieces.
If you have any that you would like to send me PM me with your address and I will send you a stamped addressed envelope so that you can send them to me at no cost to yourself and then I can get the toys and give them to her.
Many Thanks0 -

Sorry it was late when I posted and I didn't make myself clear - I meant to say complain to Boots about Thomas Cook!
I know that it wasn't Boots' fault & they may not be able to do anything but if their customers are being messed about by Thomas Cook because of a promotion that they offered, they may think twice abt getting involved with them in the future, Also they may be able to have a word with T Cook on your behalf or even give you the points as a good will gesture. You never know!
Rmac has mentioned watchdog - I had thought the same thing although I wouldn't normally consider it. I cannot believe there are other people in the same situation as you!! Its very disappointing!0 -
Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but Thomas Cook credit card avoids card booking fees & earns points for your next holiday, too, BUT.......
& we haven't started asking, yet...
Can we use the discount vouchers, from Boots, TOGETHER with our already saved up points ??
Now THAT WILL confuse the poor girls, at the call centre!!
& best points bargain I can find is 150 on Traditional range. £1.49 for the hand cream tubes. So they give 1p for you to buy it!! Only thing is, computer doesn't recognise the voucher, so has to be manually entered & cause a que, at the till.
Mrs VB says it's very nice!!

Went into Boots today (small store) toni & Guy shampoo all 4.99 except on bottom shelf I found some priced at 2.24 and on 3 for 2, got 200 points out of machine. When scanned the price was actually 4.99 but as the ticket on shelf said 2.24 had to sell it me for that price. I also got 600 points, 200 for each product means boots paid me to take away the goods.
My daughter gets different point awards to me, hers are higher, she has less points on her card, even the staff dont know why.
Ive found that the small stores give you the machine points on each item purchased including 3 for 2s. (i.e 600 pts on 3 toni & guy products) But the very large stores i.e sheffield meadowhall will only give you points on the transaction(same purchase gives 200 pts )Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -

Surely by saying that there may be MANY other customers in the same postion, they are admiting that their staff have got it wrong several times then and not just on this one occassion. I would think that would back up your case even more.
Too bad if they got it wrong, they should cough up!
As has already been suggested, let Boots (someone very high up) know too as I don't imagine they want to have their name muddied in any way.0
