Likewise I certainly had you down as someone with "less experience". Getting the MFD in for 50 would be wonderful, but do have your other savings all there too just in case an opportunity arises to benefit you (impromptu break to treat yourself for example).0 -
Yeah - I have two ISA's up to their limits and a bit besides as well as the premium bonds. and with those OP's i will still have some enjoy myself money left over too. one thing the last month has taught me is to live for today.

My darling wonderful husband pleaded not guilty against a charge of assault and another of breach of bail. I have to go to court. I'm soooooooooo scared. What do I do? Do I need a lawyer?

Have a quick word with the court; I guess you are only a witness for the prosecution and not yourself bringing the case? Citizens Advice can help also I would expect.
Last thing you need I know, but stay strong :A0 -
You will not look back.
Happy Birthday
You will not look back.
Congrats on being under £10k
You will not look back.
Just tell the truth in court - and as Stuart says, contact with CAB would be a good thing to do.

Well, as expected, my DH pleaded not guilty so I have to go to court. Court date set as Feb 23rd, although he has to go again before that (possibly for witness intimidation i think, but no doubt that will be a not guilty too). Anyway, I can't praise the support services enough - especially the witness care unit. They really are fantastic. I know that it's going to be a traumatic experience, but I also know it's something I have to do.
I also have a meeting with a solicitor on Friday (two days before our first wedding anniversary) so I can get the papers drawn up for divorce.
My friend had a great idea to help me 'move on'. For my birthday, she and I did a makeover in my living room - just painting and putting up a mirror and changing one rug for another (which i already had - very MSE!!) has made it into a different room and started to banish some of the painful memories. We also listened to CD which had my wedding song (Greatest Day, Take That) on and that has now become a painting song so great amateur psychology going on!
I think I'll be able to OP about £600 at the end of this month which will be a great start to my personal MF B4 50 challenge.
Anyway - will not look back - and think I'm doing ok looking forward. And the snow has gone and the sun is shining..........things can only get better.
Love to everyone in MFW land.

Hi Poppy Oscar, sorry to hear you've had such a rotten time. If you still have questions about the court you could contact Womens Aid in your area or else Victim Support as both orgs have lots of experience and workers who can help. I guess the witness support you mentioned may be them though? Good luck and try not to stress - remember you've done nothing wrong!0
