Okay *deep breath* My name is Morwenna and I am a hoarder....

My food cupboards attract ridicule - DS1: "what are your actual plans for Ready Brek Mountain, Mum?" "Why do we have that much tuna?" "Some countries are short of food..." You get the idea..

I have enough fabric to make an actual sized 'whole house' cosy...hmm...given fuel bills, is this a bad idea... ;)

Books - esp cookery - this IS NOT a bad thing, surely..?

Bed linen/curtains, probably could kit out the street. Still, it's not a BIG street...

Toiletries/loo rolls/san towels etc.. okay, there might be some hoardage here too.. but I break into a nervous sweat knowing there are only nineteen spare loo rolls!!

    lil_me: I am your sister!! ;)

  • I have a bin bag full of sanitary towels in my loft:o had about 100 pack in it at one point after giving about 50 away to a charity and family:eek:
    About 20 Deodorants, 30 Shower gels(we don't have a shower,yet)
    countless, hand wash,shampoo conditioner,toothpaste,toothbrushes,toothbrush heads.
Must be 10 bottles of bubble bath at least.
10 Tubs of body moisturizer,8 Bottles of body lotion.
A mountain of toilet rolls about 15 packs(was just thinking I need to get more:o )
Four hugh boxes of gift sets under my bed and in the loft.

    I have about 60 towels

I have been slowly using upmy stash, and been giving it to family members as little extra gifts ect.
I have my towel obsession under control.

I have too many tins of food to count and pasta, cous cous ect(I put this down to both to being so poor at one point and having nothing and also watching disaster movies ect like Jerico:o )

And there is only myself and my 13yr old daughter in the house.

my names sillyvixen and i'm a hoarder - i first realised i had a problem a few weeks ago when i couldnt fit my shopping in the cuboards in the kitchen. i had to remove extra 'stock' and put it in the spare room along with the excess toilet rolls and toiletries - now i realise why i never have visitors. never mind once i have done a 'stock take' my food bills should be reduced for 6 months or so - shouldnt need to buy many tins or packets as i have loads!!!

Fortunate here in that this house does NOT have much storage space, phew!

But in the past I WAS addicted to buying from Yves Rocher catalogues (cosmetics/perufmes etc), Pierre Ricaud catalogues (more cosmetics/perfumes) and Avon (see the pattern developing?), and I hardly ever wear make-up but you should see my three cosmetics bags  and my three vanity cases (free gifts from Yves Rocher for ordering over £35 of products on separate occasions!). My overspending got me into trouble with the bank and I lost my debit card because of it. Now only have a cash card and have refused time and again to go back to the debit card that they keep offering me. They have realised that they DO NOT make a single penny out of my account since I got my finances in order! If I need to order something on-line or book a holiday, I give the money to my DS and ask for the use of his CC No. :j .

On a day-to-day basis, I buy Asda essential range of toiletries (shower gel, soap, hair products etc) but when it comes to Christmas people seem to think that they are 'treating me' by getting me more expensive ranges of stuff. I am really grateful for the thoughts, BUT very often what I am bought is not for my skin/hair type or is a product that I HAVE bought previously but have found doesn't suit me at all. These all become part of my hoarded stash (top shelf of my wardrobe and the three drawer bedside cabinet that has gravitated into the bathroom!). Should really think about making pamper baskets as presents to pass these items on to somebody else.

I'm another who has a 'thing about bedding'. I love sets of matching bedding (doesn't have to be expensive but does have to match) - I even have about 6 matching sets for the single spare bed. Well it all depends on who is sleeping in the spare bed as to which set gets put on it - can't have my elderly mother sleeping in 'spider man duvet cover' :rotfl:! I also buy spare sheets (but only when I see them on offer) as long as they will colour match with my duvet covers.
  • Magazines - ones with nice recipes in mainly, but only a small percentage I will ever use:rolleyes:
Novels - I will read them again, honest. Plus a boxful of my late Mother's books that I will get round to reading when I can bear to.

Food/drink -cereals, Yorkshire tea (when it's on offer of course), tinned goods. My excuse is that "the shops" are too far away (7 miles) so I've got to keep a good larder/freezers/fridge  . We might get snowed in (we never got any snow today incidentally)
I'm running down one freezer (to defrost) and my baking box now,and only making cakes and biscuits with the bitsnbobs such as dried fruit etc. I've got in.

I'm noonesperfect, I'm a hoarder but in my defence have currently got a few items for sale on ebay  :D

  • My main vice is books. I've probably got enough for 3 lifetimes and have to tear myself away from them in the Supermarket! A bit easier now I'm taking part in the Grocery Challenge, if it's bought in the Supermarket it's included in the budget. Before Christmas I managed to declutter slightly and give away wool to a colleague, I'm sure there's lots of other junk I need to get rid of.

No *You must not go on the Avon site without going via quidco* (Oh and checking discount boards for money off, free delivery etc etc)

beemuzed, not a big house, 3 bedrooms, just got to be careful with storage, fill every space. Making space under the bed, bottom of the airing cupboard, top of cupboards, under stairs cupboard is a new one for me as the last house just had a wall, such a waste of space! Wherever it'll fit basically :rotfl: My second FF lives in the garage, american style thing that we couldn't fit in the house, about the only thing I am allowed to stash in there or DP kicks off (his space) if I was allowed I would probably fill that too :o

Just spotted a gap in a cupboard, makes me all twitchy! Right, time to put another order in :rotfl:
One day I might be more organised...........

My name is Hev, and I am a hoarder.

We are slowly getting to the end of a stack of tinned Fray Bentos Pies which I built up two years ago - they were on offer.

I have just put in an online order, and I can't order one of anything. I have to have a stash. I'll order two or three (or more) in just in case. Ordering just one of something doesn't seem possible. I'll order a crate and then just work my way through in time.

The delivery man from Sainsbury's was completely impressed by the vast quantity of catfood delivered for our two elderly cats (it was on offer, what can I say).

I looked at Dri Pak's website and seriously thought it was a good idea to get six spray guns of the vinegar, six of the soda, a tray of the bicarb until I managed to get a grip. I am so hit and miss with cleaning it could take me years to get through that amount of cleaner.

Tonight, for the first time in years, there wasn't stuff in to make a proper tea. That is because I am trying to beat the grocery hoarding bug.

(just thrown out a load of packet soups because they were so elderly, and I hate waste.)

You should have seen the assistant's face when Boots had a really good offer on condoms. Well, they have a long shelf life.

And don't even get me started on knitting wool, embroidery cottons etc.
    Always another chapter
