I have ordered other stuff from Amazon before with Free Supersaver delivery and unfortunately I received the item only after a week of ordering. For next day despatch, we will have to pay extra !

I hope this 5111 is better that the Onis otherwise I wouldn't bother.

My previous phones were the Onis Vox and I had them 7 years. They still just about work, but there have been problems (generally with the buttons not working). So far the 5111s I bought have been fine, and the menus are much easier to navigate.

Philips DECT phones have a poor reputation of interfering with Freeview TV receivers and video extenders.

I would avoid all Philips DECT products.

does this phone have a loud speaker/hands-free speaker? for those that have this phone - is there any hissing/crackling when using the phone? does it have a good range? lastly, is it light-weight, cheap & plasticky? or is it fairly solid?

Muffinhead, they are digital so NO crackles, I think you are remembering the old analogue cordless ones, there is no comparison Dect phones are the same quality as fixed ones. All tend to be light- weight and have good range, all round our garden and into the street
