I've heard that toothpaste can bring off fake tan on hands:confused:

Otherwise you could just change your name to Orangeivy :D :rotfl:

Sorry about that, couldnt resist it. Hope you get it off finally.

I already signed my message OrangeIvy, sm@rt@r$e!

I will try some of these when I get home, If I exfoliated before application presumably I'll have to wait a day or two, my skin can only shed at a certain rate surely?

It's not a serious problem really, as it's only hands. I realised as I was leaving the house that my hands were white. It would really have shown up on stage! Anyway, it was worth it, we came top out of all the 4 sessions of prelims that went on over the last couple of weeks. Main competition is in October.

Awww I didnt see you had already signed yourself Orange ivy... I feel all embaressed now :D

Good news on your success though, keep it up lass!

Another thought, when I used to use Clinique I had the clarifying toner and that was pretty strong, if you have that I'd give it a go.

I know that swimming in a chlorinated pool helps fade a fake tan - doubt you want to dip your hands in chlorine though! Quick scrub over with a bit of jif or stardrops? Prob best not!

Lemon juice can be used as a bleach, perhaps that would help? Otherwise just lots of washing. Make up remover wipes can fade it a bit, and the clinique toner is used to clean the clinique counter by the girls on the local one, so it'd prob remove some of it, it's pretty strong stuff.

Good luck! And well done in your competition!

It's not exactly OS but I keep a tub of clearasil ultra deep pore treatment pads in the bathroom cabinet to sort out fake tan mistakes. Also very useful for hair dye too, I use a blue/black dye which when it drips leaves me looking like a smurf! The clearasil pads are the only thing I've found that works without having to scrub until I'm red raw.

I tend to use witchhazel - i get a big bottle from boots pharmacy.

Having said that, i tend not to bother with fake tan now. I resemble corned beef normally, and fake tan doesn't really help that!
Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

I find that fake tans go into my pores and leave me looking like I have loads of blackheads - urgh. I usually revert to sunbed just so I don't get the blackhead effect. Professional fake tans do the same.

I keep hearing about Clinique on a beauty professionals website. It seems it isn't as gentle and marvellous as it's made out to be. judging by what some people here have said, it's akin to paint stripper.

An easy way to get rid of streaky fake tan, is to dissolve a dishwasher tablet in a bowl of water and soak your hands or wipe the area with the solution.
That really does work and it's not as harsh on your skin as some of the above suggestions.

i have no idea if clinique clarifying lotion works but I think i've got half of a big bottle of number 3 if anyone wants it - i find its too harsh for my skin.

No cost (except postage so i'm not out of pocket :p )

Pm me if you're interested..... (and i'll make sure i've still got it lurking in the back of a cupboard somewhere!)

Ps if anyone's from west yorks i live in halifax and work in leeds so might be easier to pick it up if you're close.
Not Buying It 2015 :)
