I just wanted to give Johnsons holiday skin body lotion a mention. It is basically lotion with a small amount of tanning agent in it which builds up gradually to a natural looking tan so no more looking like you`ve been tangoed!!!
I have used it now for four days morning and night and it`s great,no streaking, staining and it smells nice.I would definitely recommend it.

Did you exfoliate first? I have some of this but have yet to summon up the energy to try it!!:)

  • I usually remove orange streaks with nail polish remover, it's harsh but it does the job. Just in case more of you have any accidents.... Mind you I can't now remember the last time I used fake tan. Or even Make up for that matter. Ah......the luxury of working from home! In Pyjamas ;)

Oh I love this thread, it just makes me laugh and laugh!! I bought some aftersun last year and it was one of those tan maintaining things but I didn't realise so I ended up with orange hands!! :D

Also Anacaster, I am quite blonde and have no eyebrows either, have tried make-up stuff that shows them up but I guess I am just used to not having any, I like it this way. What makes me laugh about MY OH's Mum and Nan is the fact that they did pluck their eyebrows away and then draw them on! (when they remember)
oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!
  • As a regular fake tan user i am a big fan of st tropez foam ( big onr £30 at boots and get points too!) u have to exfoliate and moisturise first..go easy o the knees and elbows! i always wipe over these areas with a tissue after too. This always works for me and end up a lovely hade of brown..no orange bits!!

Recently i bought fake bake it was more expensive than st tropez but didnt find it as good as......so back to the st tropez when it runs out!
    £900 towards next holiday...ta very much Mr T x

    Hi

Had to have fake tan on for Saturday's competition. Chest doesn't look too bad, but I made a right mess of my hands, they look pretty bizarre and I wondered about how I might best get rid of it.

I obviously don't want to put every solvent known to man on the hands, but if anyone had any idea at all about what might remove it I'd be grateful!

Try olive oil and sugar, say a tea spoon of oil to two tea spoons of sugar. Rub it in really hard like an exfoliator and see what happens. It's worked for me in the past, but it might depend on the make of fake tan.

The only os thing I can think of is bicarb as it can be used an exfoliant. Wet your hands then rub the bicarb all over your hand. Keep going till it comes off. Moisturise your hands after as they might be a bit dry. Hope it works.

I've heard that toothpaste can bring off fake tan on hands:confused:

Otherwise you could just change your name to Orangeivy :D :rotfl:

Sorry about that, couldnt resist it. Hope you get it off finally.
