I hope you get things sorted out.
This thread was a top post Jaxxy - please continue to post any bargains you find!
I'm not impressed with Kays though - they should have refused orders when they ran out (instead of acknowledging them, giving delivery addresses and in some cases taking the money) and they should have informed people when they decided to cancel their orders.
I'm glad some people managed to get hold of these benches even though I wasn't successful.0 -
No bench here either - placed order about the same time as everyone else.
Did have a polite (as possible) chat with Call Centre Supervisor, who told me order had been cancelled due to lack of stock and they couldn't do anything.
Been told to ring Customer Relations on 01204 454201, and see what they say. Not holding out much hope. Best offer from the Call Centre was an extra 10% off my next order. Don't think I'll be doing that.
Will post tomorrow to let you know how I get on with Customer Relations.0 -
try angry emails to enquiry@kaysnet.com.
if enough of us complain they might do something about their shocking customer service!!0 -
Received mine benches today
Pretty damn good for £8 each.
Sorry for you folk that didn't receive yours, keep complaining, especially if they have already debited money.

No e-mail or letter, just no trace of the order, looks like my benches are not coming either, emailed kays 2 days ago and hav'nt had a reply, have to check my cc account but if they have taken the money I'll be writing to watchdog. I think they just pulled the benches because it was a mistake not hp0

Hiya
Yep! I am in the same boat - benches not arrived and order cancelled . I rang Kays and had the assistant squirming a bit. When I mentioned compensation I was quickly put onto a supervisor who looked through the catalogue for an alternative product for me - but there wasn't one! She told me she would contact head office and get them to check with the manufacturer if there was any more stock available. Apparently the stock IS on order but the manufacturers are messing them about so they've just cancelled all the orders. I was also told I was sent a letter on the 15th but haven't got it yet. I asked to be contacted by email in future and a note has been made on my account to that effect. I have to say they were really nice :T but I'm not expecting any luck with the benches...
I would think it was a price error that they have pulled to stop further purchases. Oh well, I hope you guys who got them make the most of them while poor old me sits on an uncomfy anthill  on the lawn.....

Dear
Thanks for your email about the bench.
Unfortunately, since placing your order, we have been unable
to obtain any more supplies of the goods and so have had to cancel
your order. You have not been charged for this item.
Please accept my apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience
this may cause you.
I hope that you are able to select a suitable alternative from
the wide selection available on our website.
If I can be of any further help, please let me know.
Regards,
Sue Johnson

hmmmmmmmmmm not happy about this at all:mad:half scottish half italian :100%moneysaver0 -
Dear Sue,
thanks for your email.
As you can imagine I am very disappointed in this service. This was my first order with your company and it certainly wasn't a pleasant shopping experience so unfortunately it will be the last one.I ordered the bench and on the website it stated that it was in stock so proceeded to check out.Paid for it using my credit card and then received two emails from your company stating that the bench would have been delivered yesterday 18th July 2005 before 6p.m.I checked online after two days as instructed in your email and the order was still there.I have taken the day off work yesterday to wait for the bench but nothing arrived and my order had magically disappear.
When I received your email I was stunned as you quote 'since placing your order, we have been unable to obtain any more supplies of the goods and so have had to cancel your order'.
How can the order have disappeared if it was in stock when I ordered? How can an item be in stock but you can't supply it?
This is your motto 'Welcome to Kays, a way of shopping that's easy, convenient, fun and very rewarding!'
well this is certainly not true for me and for all the people that have asked me about this offer and have been as disappointed as me about your company's attitude towards this order.
I will certainly not be using this company again and will not recommend it to anyone I know after all how do we know that if we order and the item is in stock ' we will not be advised in any way that the order has been cancelled as you may not supply it?'
And I will just finish off saying it is common courtesy for Customer Service to at least inform their clients that an order has not been fulfilled as you could not supply. To date I have not received a letter, email or phone call to advise about this except for the email which was in answer to mine.
Could you please pass this email to your manager as this is a formal complaint
Regards
Lucylou
