    Hi,

Its Vivw's daughter here. She has asked me to come here and just let you know that she can't get online at the moment due to BT messing them around.

We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

When this thread began I was doing up my house to sell. I was too worried to think about my new house which I wanted to have MY style rather than what would sell the house.

Now, having sold and being in a rented house, I am interested in interior design old style aka cheap!

Martha Stewart is a source of inspiration for me and I get some of her daily tips in my inbox. The storage tips are especially good.

As winter strikes I think people will be thinking of doing housey things and a good time to start shabby chiccing.

I hope there are some others out there. I have a stool I bought at a car boot and I'm thinking of getting it out and working on it.

    What is anyone else doing?

moanymoany - have you got cath kidsons book - tips for vintage style (or something along those lines) for quirky ideas on household things. Like using an old chipped china cup for a detergent scoop.
  • Yay! I love this thread!:j Great tip re.Martha Stewart email; thanks Moany Moany. I will look out for the Kidston book, too.

I am currently getting back into sewing. Am making a ribbon-covered cushion and, if that goes well, I want to make a pocket-tidy, book-holder thing for my daughter's bunkbed. I ordered some lovely fabric from France (via Ebay) which I'm going to use for the pockets.

I loved this thread too! But it seemed to stop because peeps were "moving" somewhere else but I don't know where  can we get it going again, do you think?

his thread inspired me to buy a recycled metal filing cabinet from our local recycling place and me and DDs spray painted it a beautiful colour, I was so proud. I would love to do something else and see other projects from you all. Just been given an old sewing machine from SIL which she had in her loft, DD has shown an interest.

Just found my picture again of the filing cabinet

I used to love this thread and never really got with the other one which was a 'development ' or whatever you want to call it...not great at doing things but someday....and meanwhile I need to read any tips out there and admire other peoples' work
