My walls are actually F&B New White (but need repainting). When it's dull they look a lovely pale cream colour (like to the left of the dresser) which I like but when the lights are on or it's sunny it just looks too yellow (like in the first pic).... very odd how completely different it can seem at different times of the day!0

And the jar on the top left is Aussielass's famous green tomato chutney.

I'm not sure my hubby gets it either. But that is tough.
I will line the shelves eventually when I find the right paper.0 -

We have used the same colour paint in our playroom as in Maisie's room (Egyptian Cotton Dulux) yet it looks entirely different.Light can play such a big part.0 -

, good for digestion surely?!). Where did you find them VP?
There are some here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=360031825371&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=0230 -
Oh good idea to use the same colour shelves.... didn't think of that. I actually had a bag full of wooden IKEA brackets in the shed... might even have some of the shelves too I think. I used Timeless paint in the boy's room so might have half a pot of that left too. If I don't paint the dresser I might perhaps wallpaper the wall behind it just to add some colour to the room or paint it a bright colour...Love this thread.... mainly because it's saved me from cleaning the oven and doing the ironing today....Going to look on ebay now for chalkboard pens!0

I have a dresser with all my bits and pieces that I have collected and we all seem to have dressers or open shelving on this site that we like to display our lovely things on. How often do we take the things off to clean and dust?
because mine is not right inside the kitchen it doesn't get greasy, just dusty, so it doesn't really get done that often:o the thought of taking everything off to wash and put back on again deters me, however once I start it doesn't really take that long.
So what the heck am I talking about!:rolleyes:0 -

If you want a change with the dresser but don't want the huge job of repainting it then how about changing (or just painting) the knobs and adding some shelf edging?Little 'glass' knobs would look really pretty and you can usually pick them up in Au Naturale quite cheaply.0 -

Now I have sliding glass doors and display and use everything in it.That way everything gets washed as we go along!
I don't see the point of saving things for best.I'd rather use and enjoy what I have!
Oh yeh and almost everything I have goes in the dishwasher! Even all my vintage crockery unless it's hand painted or my vintage glasses.
BTW whilst googling chalkboard pens (really I have no housework I should be doing honest and my 11 year old isn't cooking pizza from scratch whilst I surf online?!) I found this site http://www.bhma.co.uk/ it's for the pub trade but do sell to the public.Lots of blackboards etc and def worth a browse.0 -

I do use some of the things from the dresser I try not to buy things just for show, what's the point, but find I am washing them before using, so twice the work really. Glass doors are a good idea in that case.
No, I have no housework either:o;) :rotfl: husband has hoovered, under my supervision, (I just don't trust him with my Dyson) I have a sore shoulder at the moment. But I could never ask him to NOT;) make a pizza from scratch, it would upset his wiring. He the DIY man:D
Enjoy your pizza. Good girls those.
I am just off to stink out the kitchen with some craster kippers we have just been given.0
