My neighbours run holiday cottages and have just started a site for Ryder cup week accommodation with prices ranging from £2k - £8k for the week. It will be interesting to see if they get any response. I'll try and remember to come back and post again if they do. I can't post a link to the site as I've just joined. PM me if you want to know.

These guys will ernt your apartment/house for you with no fee (they will take commission) - it is non-exclusive so you can advertise elsewhere too. They are advertising their own apartments for £3600-£5000 for 10 days!

• Many insurance companies are refusing to protect your properties whilst they are soley occupied by paying guests (Ryder Cup rentals), or exclude cover i.e. accidental damage, loss of rent etc

If you want to ensure your property is fully protected including accidental damage and loss of rent e.g. you experience a large fire or flood a few days before your guest are due to arrive. This can be extremely inconvenient as I am sure everyone who is hoping to rent their property will have spent monies either upgrading the decoration, buying new furniture, bed linen etc and as a result of the damage the rental cannot be fulfilled.

You can now arrange cover which is not connected to your existing home insurance and will therefore not impact you future home insurance premiums or excesses, or any earned no claims discount.

This scheme has been arranged specifically for Sport Event letting(short term) and can be purchased for a minimum period of a week and in multiples of weeks.

The insurance will cover your buildings as well as your contents together with liability protection; should an accident occur and you are deemed negligent.

If you want to arrange cover or simply find our more about the cover, premium etc ring 01633 247700 or email info@underwoodisl.co.uk

• I have a historic house....I've put it on at a high price..and had NO interest at all...I have it with the 'accomodation for the event' website. My place is in chepstow
• Yeh. Thats what worrys me. Loads of people making money listing properties but none getting rented out.
• Hi there, Ive thought about doing this too as I live 2 miles from the Celtic Manor. Ive looked at a few sites and couldnt believe how much people are asking a week for their houses. It made me wonder if anyone actually manages to rent them out at that price. Ive not looked into it any further.
