Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone

Hope you find you all OK, surviving the wind, snow, storm, rain and whatever else yesterday threw at you. Hope none of you have been powerless.

Had a slightly earlier night last night, hence awake around 6.30, but that's not too bad 6.5 hours, so thought I would start us off today.

Plans for today - none yet. Yesterday did a Lidl shop and stocked up with meat. With a full range to go at DH opted for Cottage Pie, which I did served with fresh carrots, parsnips, green beans and sprout (for me only, I love sprouts). Went down well and enough left for today or tomorrow depending if we go out tonight. It's our local market today but I have enough fresh veg/fruit, so may give it a miss.

Can't think of anything else to twitter about so ((((hugs)))) to those who'd like and Hi to everyone else.

Pen-Pen - how's the Sheffield Meadowhall meet doing?

    Morning all

Haven't posted for ages, as my OS lifesytle has slipped somewhat! But I do read daily and try and remember you all.

A light sprinkling of snow here, well thats the veiw from the bedroom window :D

off to work in a bit and then I think that I have some serious menu planning and store cupboard reviewing to do. Spent far too much in January and my car needs its MOT in March , so frugal Feb here I come.

Hugs to everyone, take them or leave them as you please.
Take care in this weather, its a great excuse for a duvet day today if you really don't need to go out

Right, think that I should get a WM on and make my pack up and give myself an extra 10mins to get to work

    have fun

    Good morning everyone

Woke up at 5 am, so I've been pottering on MSE since then. I've been getting a bit of motivation in the how much have you saved part of the site :D

I made good use of my day off yesterday. Copied out quite a few of Gingham Ribbons recipes, made 2 batches of muffins, 2 soda breads (frozen in portions to take to work with HM soup) and a mince & lentils mix. The mince & lentils I turned into two individual shepherds pies for our evening meal and I have enough left to make a lasagne today. I just need to work out how to do a cheese sauce without the cheese :rotfl: I don't plan to leave the house at all this weekend - firstly because it is too cold and secondly because I don't want to spend any money ;)
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

Morning all and hello and welcome to APPLE-MINT.

Very cold and frosty here on the south coast but no snow - at least not yet!

Plan today is to do baking; lots of it because the cakes I made last weekend lasted about five minutes! I also have some more paperwork to do and some information to organise to give to DS2's friend to tell him how to claim bank charges. He told me yesterday that, because his pay was late going into his bank (his employer's fault) last week, he has been charged £30 for going overdrawn. He didn't think about writing to his bank to explain and ask them to waive it and then I remembered that he could maybe claim all his charges back for the last six years. That made him listen! Anyway, I'll give him the info and write the initial letter for him if he wants to pursue it. When I suggested this to my DS2 last year he said 'oh, don't bother, it's only a couple of hundred quid'! He's become more MSE since then, especially when I succeeded in getting £375 back for him!

Anyway, not much to say at the moment. I intended to do lots of crochet last night but fell asleep on the sofa with it still in my hands. Will try again later when I'm more awake.

Anyway, off for a shower. See you all later and (((hugs))) to all in need.

Need to put some washing on in a mo - so that it can be dry for when I get back this afternoon and I can iron it all

Hope everyone has a great day!

    Morning.

Just surfacing from my party last night. It was a success and everyone had a great time. I have so much left over though, I need another party to eat it up. Just as well there is a lunch at Church tomorrow!
Loads of booze left too. I bought plenty and then people bring some, so my wine rack is full :D .
We did'nt get any snow down this way, so it's just a wet cloudy morning.
We are off to Falmouth today to do some shopping and spend some birthday money.
I bet it will be freezing down there if the wind is in the wrong direction.
Well better ger ready. At least we cleaned up the party mess last night, so there is no bomb site to welcome us.

    Cheers
