I think the whole point has gone over your head again.

Strange, I was thinking that it was the other way around, it is all drifting over your head.

Anyway, as long as you are happy with your Virgin BB, fine, clearly many, many are not.

..the people who post on internet forums are not a representative sample of any ISP's customer base so you will always have a bias towards complaints as people rarely come onto a forum with the express purpose of praising a company.

    linky

some forums are full of happy punters, some full of sad. the isp ratings are based on scores out of ten for service, reliability, cs etc, not the number of people voting, so for an isp to regularly be at/near the bottom of the rankings, that suggests the majority of people voting thing the service is poor. i'm inclined to believe that in the main, the people voting on these sites are slightly more pc literate than the majority, the things we complain about with our isps are things others can't even hope to match (there is a thread on TBB about an isp taking 15 minutes to respond to an email, general consensus it this is a little slower than we've come to expect!).
virgin seem to provide a very hit and miss product, for some it works flawlessly, but for others there are big problems, their CS has a very poor reputation, and reading the problems experienced by the OP it seems deserved.

Hi Sarahllord, any luck with that router ? and if so can you let me know the model number etc as I am just trying to install the speedtouch 330 on my new vista laptop and appear to be having the same problems !!!Any advice appreciated !!!!

It's the DG834G, an ADSL router. I had a few problems getting it installed as I bought it on Ebay and it came with an AOL installation disc, but there are instructions on the Netgear website and once I set it up on WPA security, I was up and running.

I have never had any issues with my Virgin broadband access. It's a basic, cheap package, it suits our needs and has free weekend and evening calls thrown in. We've always been able to connect when we've wanted to and although customer services aren't great, I'm staying put because it would cost me more to move elsewhere.
