Anyone know how the new signatures actually work or successfully revised one?

Tried with 3 lines & still no joy unfortunately!!! I'm never going to be able to update my sig!!!

Delete the whole thing (copy it somewhere else) and try again

Using SRA's advice, I went through it and deleted loads of unnecessary coding (it's just like HTML when you look at it that way), and my old existing sig was down to 857 characters including BCC.

So, I clicked Preview, and got the following message:

So it looks as if the goalposts have moved slightly! Just when we got the hang of BCC, it's no longer relevant and it's actual characters we're counting again.

Back to square 1...!

Think I've sussed the line thing: It counts how many lines you're taking up in that tiny box that you input your sig info into - it's nothing to do with how many lines it actually takes up, or how many times you press return.

300 characters isn't much, is it? Especially as every time you strike through something, you add the text

{strike} (/strike}

to each bit of info (17 characters) - shame as strikes are a concise way of expressing things but looks like we'll have to stop using them.
