am having one of those days when you are bursting at the seams to get some wool on a needle yet everything is set out to not let me achieve this. i even got up extra early when house was quiet but nothing. i have a lot of some wools but are generally of the cheaper persuasion that i know will not look good in the garments i want to make and small amounts of the more favoured type. wa tnt to make a basic enough vest so you would think that was easy but no. the pattern i like best decided to leave off the guage insnstructions and so am worried either the aran would not be thick enough and dont really want to find out after i have knitted it. which could have happened last week. i bought what i thought to be two packs of identical packs of wool from ice yarn same dye number etc but found when putting away that one pack was a deep blue with grey and the other a mauve with grey in it. they were 2 complete different colours so that could have been devastating. they dont have any more of either so now hoping to get a pattern that only calls for 400g. also wanted to use this funny ribbon looking wool i have but only have 400g of that too and thats in a wendy 100% bamboo but every search i have done comes up with a who???? any how feel a little better after rant. will just have to do a few more rows of my never ending crochet blanket until some patterns come along thanks guys
Oh dear. Did you think about my suggestion of making something smaller. What ribbon yarn do you have ? You could maybe make a nice light scarf with that? Some days are just more challenging than others, but tomorrow is another day. x

Where are you searching? I looked on Ravelry and there are 181 projects listed that people have made with Wendy Pure 100% bamboo:

Also, on Ravelry you can search for patterns by entering details of the yarn you have: weight, length, fibres etc. Click the patterns tab and then 'advanced search'. you can filter results by the yarn details then. I get 84 pattern suggestions for 600 metres bamboo, worsted weight (that's the wendy Pure details from the yarn database):

am sorry for bringing the mood down so much i must seem like a really dim witted cry baby and honest i am not
i can be quite cheery at times, have looked on ravelry 181 projects but very few are tops and the couple that were tops had no pattern with them but i will persevere as i really do want to get some knitting on my new bamboo needles bought for me bu my ds1 perhaps i need to dig a bit deeper or be a bit daring and find a top with correct measurements and just go for it and to think this is supposed to be a calm and relaxing hobby

Guess what I just made ?
(ok, I won't pretend it was a coincidence, I saw it- it being the project name, you hadn't put a photo up at that point- on your projects and fancied a go!).
Dead easy to make aren't they? And I also find mine looks better than the photo suggests. I like your colour- mine had to be my fave purple though lol!
Zingy also now has a scarf:Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

You are not bringing my mood down, not sure about the others. I do think starting on something small might help though, sense of achievement and quick finished object and all that xErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Orkney - you have great taste
Your photograph shows the detail much better than mineI haven't taken a picture wearing it as I'm working nightshift at the mo so just mooching around and haven't had a shower yet.
Think they'll look great on a plain jumper and I'm thinking of making some as gifts
Just wish it was so easy to come up with ideas for men :mad:Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Hmmm, I tried a few times to get a photo and that was one of the best ones (you should have seen some of the others :eek::eek::eek:).
Men's gifts are so much harder- socks, socks, socks, and em, socks?
I did make a remote control holder once, and also a beanie for DH.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
