crochet more than knit these days because I have tendonitis in my hands and one hook is less painful to use than two needles!

I have various problems with my hands including tendonitis and use interchangeable circular needles to knit rather than straights. May be worth a try?

  • Whilst there are some lovely ideas on here, most are a bit difficult for me to follow as a beginner. I am only able to cast on and off, knit stitch, not yet onto purl.

I made my friends a blanket by knitting scarves then joining them together with sewing. Each scarf was 100 stitches wide in double knitting and as I got bored with one colour I would add in another at the end of the row. As long as all tie ins were on the same side of the scarf, it worked out right.

It isn't classy or clever, but it was made with love and even kept me warm whilst knitting it. As I finished a scarf, i sewed it to the next one, so I could use it myself. lovely

Well I have spent today making the backdrop for my Advent Calendar.
Used felt for background and tree, red buttons for berries and gold embroidery thread for loops.
It seems to have taken a long time, but not as long as knitting all the pieces!

I have dowling in the top, and need to get more for the bottom so that it hangs better.

It's beautiful, Cuddles. Reminds me of childhood Christmases.

  • I've been making simple hairbands out of odds and sods of yarn, I'm really pleased with this one, have been wearing it all day, (not modelled by me lol)

You might find this link helpful. They suggest doubling aran to knit a chunky pattern but thats going to work out rather expensive and quite dense.

Oh thanks. I think the short answer is "no" - LOL. I think i will buy the cheap aran yarn and knit something else with it after i have done DD's jumper in chunky (or was it the other way round - LOL)
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I hope I am posting this in the right place as I seem to think that it was here I found the original pattern. Can anyone remember a knitting pattern of a very small Christmas pudding that holds a sweetie. I have been making them for a charity to sell at Christmas and I have lost the pattern. I hope someone can help and post me a link please.
